I've got 600gp to invest into the Blacksmith. I want them to be able to make some next-level stuff!

The local Blacksmith would indeed love investments in the Smithy - 2,000gp should give them the funds to hire an extra hand, expand the forge and really get the materials in to make full-plate armour amongst other things. If others could chip in as well I'm sure you'd get the money together. Also there's a 10% permanent discount in it for anyone who chips in more than 200gp.

Gara the dwarf walks in on the conversation, gives Tugark what was supposed to be a friendly slap on the shoulder but only really reaches his shoulder blades... "A brilliant idea Tugark, I would like to match your investment! 600GP!" and he flings a bag of gold on the table, a few coins spill out of the bag and crimson spots of blood can clearly be noticed on some of them.
"Also master Smith, I have this breast plate and mail shirt that may interest you, the shirt, admittedly, is slightly damaged. It was worn until recently by one of mine own people, who although powerful was not particularly wise to charge us while we shot at him with bows... and here is his great axe also. How much for the three?"

He looks approvingly at the breast plate especially, less so at the other two items. "115gp for the lot" he says.

Just need another 800gp for the blacksmith to upgrade then... Anyone else? Apparently, the Kickstarter backers get a 10% discount

And if you donate more than 200 gold, you get a small metal badge with the armourer's logo on it!

Dran, my Dwarf Cleric was an apprenticing blacksmith before he was called to service by Marthammor Duin. Perhaps he could keep his hand in as an assistant to the blacksmith?

Samed the Blacksmith is pleased to announce that with the investments gathered publicly, as well as a few interested merchants, a new apprentice and some help provided in recruiting both smelters and an enchanter for the forge, the Smithy will be expanding over the next week or two to be bigger and better than ever, with the ability to craft better arms and armour for your adventuring needs.

Varis walks in to the smithy.
"I seek Master Samed. I'm in need of new armour, perhaps a suit of splinted mail. I can offer my own Chain Mail in partial trade."

Samed the blacksmith (his name is Samed! I'd forgotten that), is always happy to sell armour to adventurers. With the Chain Mail trading in, you can buy the Splint Mail for 175 gp

Varis walks into the smithy once more
"Master Samed, I wish to speak with you about an apprenticeship. I make much use of martial arms, and while I would always prefer to have a skilled artisan such as yourself on hand to maintain and repair my equipment, oftimes that is not possible. To that end, I wondered if you might teach me a little of your craft. I would be happy to work the smithy for you when I am in town as partial payment for your tutelage. What say you, Master Smith?"

Samed laughs. "My business here is expanding quickly enough that I can always use an extra pair of hands if you're willing to learn. I don't have much time for teaching, but my smiths can show you the basics and we'll see how you do."
(I'll message you further about this)
