A messenger drops off a carefully penned missive to Master Samed, along with a small pouch of coin and waits patiently for a response to take with them back to the sender.
“Master Samed, Am looking to have a suit of chain mail made for my hound. Measurements and color preferences are included, as well as half the price expected. If this is sufficient, please send confirmation back with the messenger along with an estimated date of completion. Payment shall be made in full at that time.
Kind regards, Baine Cinderwood”
(Sweet took one look at the note he was writing, rolled her eyes and started dictating.)

On 21 Uktar Heret drops in again and deposits another clanging sack on the counter. 'Good business, good business! I've another battered suit of half-plate here – this one is in slightly better condition than the last, I think. Could you do the job for... 100 gp this time?'
[The person to ask about the condition of the armour would be Tarek. it's from the 'Escort to Hagar Karim' game.]

[The person to ask about the condition of the armour would be Tarek. it's from the 'Escort to Hagar Karim' game.] A broad shouldered woman of half Elven descent looks up as Heret enters. She smiles when he explains his request. “Ah, you with Lasira over at the trading post? A pearl to you, good sir!” She looks very pleased with her attempt at an Amnian greeting, and begins going over the armour fragments in the bag. “Well, I’m sorry to disappoint you friend, but this armour is in fairly bad shape. See how the rivers have been torn out along the underside of the pauldron here? Delicate work that - mess it up and you won’t be able to raise your arm above your head. Makes parrying an overhead strike nigh on impossible. It’ll cost you about 170 gold. If that sounds fair then leave the armour and half the money with me and come back in two weeks.”

😅 Heret was obviously trying it on with his 100 gp pitch but out of character I genuinely had the impression that this armour was less damaged than the last lot, so can Heret do some kind of thing to figure out whether this nice lady is trying it on too? Insight on her or intelligence on the armour to figure out whether it's really that badly damaged?

[We rolled Insight on discord. 18 + 4 = 22. 'Heret perceives no deceit in unnamed half Elven journeyman. She seems to be giving you what she believes is a fair price for the work she is doing.']
Heret compliments her knowledge of Amnian customs and makes brief small-talk about whether she's ever been there &c. before agreeing the price and handing over 85 gp as down-payment.
