Sending Stones - Part 1
A few days before Nathalie’s arrival, I
"Hi Nathlie? How are you? Anything you want to see when you come over? Something you want? Love you. I have pet monkey friend..."
…
A few seconds later, I heard a reply…
"I'm well, Kavel. Hmm, how about your favourite places? Or somewhere with the best views and food? Love you too. What's this about a monkey?"
Sending Stones - Part 2
The evening after an encounter with a massive dragon, and a meet with Lord Bahamut, I felt I had a couple reasons to send another message with the Sending Stone…
"Hi Nathalie, in anticipation for visit; will you remain at sprite height? Anything want see? Met dragon god... new tattoo..."
…
A few seconds later, I heard a reply…
"I am not sure. I guess we will find out. You met another dragon? Did they give you a new tattoo? Hope you're well, continuing to train and condition."
Preparations
It was New Moon minus three days. It was time to crack on with my preparations for Nathalie.
Stuff done:
- Cleaned house.
- Talked to Timor, told him “‘mum’ is coming to visit.” Taught Timor to wave hello. My golden headed lion tamarin’s wave is on point. Such a good boy.
- Got food for breakfast.
- Prepared a walk around the Dwarven Quarter, so Nathalie can see where I live.
- Arranged lunch with Archie, Mendal, Kruger (my oldest, dearest friends/ ‘bros’) and Sorrel (‘sister’ - who Nathalie has already met) and Silvia.
- Prepared a walk in the Dawn Market.
- Prepared a visit to the Temple of Selune - Nathalie is the spiritual leader of the Damphenite sprites. She may be interested in spiritual worship on the material plane.
- McAdam’s Fight Pit - Nathalie appreciates fights. Plus, I used to compete here a bit.
- Arranged dinner at Four Fair Winds Dinner, just me and her - I paid for a room at the top of the building, so we have a nice view of town.
Day of the New Moon
Nathalie arrived! I was very happy. She was also her sprite height and did not have a potion of growth, so there was that. Still, I’ll take whatever time I can have with her. Sex will have to be very creative though, or possibly put on hold.
Before breakfast we cuddled as much as we could. I layed on my back while her spite body rested on my chest and belly. I stroked her back, between her wings with my fingers and let my fingers draw lines from her neck to her heels. Alternatively, my thumbs would stroke her arms and side. Nathalie would rub my chest from time to time, and she said, laying on me with the height difference, was like being in a boat at sea with the waves gently lifting the boat.
Before we got up for some breakfast there was a tiny knock at the door - Timor wanted to say hello.
Monkey Business
Timor waved hello to Nathalie as taught - good boy. Nathalie observed how well behaved he was and enjoyed his curiosity. She mentioned how handsome my little man is too, which he is. Timor came and sat next to Nathalie. Nathalie and I petted Timor while we talked. The good boy was being spoiled.
Nathalie and Timor are about the same height, and since Nathalie can fly, Timor had a buddy to chase him around the climbing apparatus we built him in the courtyard. I even used my flight legs to join in and try and catch the pair of them. After that fun, Nathalie went behind Timor, picked him up under his arms and carried him around the yard as she flew. Timor loved that, and it was very enjoyable to watch.
Nathalie asked how we met, and I explained the Lesser Book of Destiny.
We had so much fun playing with Timor that we sailed past breakfast and went straight into lunch.
Out and About Daring Heights
We did all the things on our agenda. Nathalie finds Daring Heights to be a curiously busy place. She was not sure what to expect but certainly not the amount of people and certainly not the variety. It’s the most non-fey she has met in her whole life. I had wondered if maybe she felt out of her depth. But, not once did I get the sense that she didn’t enjoy her time. Nathalie was grateful for her tour of the city, and looked forward to the next time. Although, I’ll probably try and be in Fort Ettin next time, so she can see Strength Corner and get a bigger feel for the variety of adventurers we have here in the Dawnlands.
She asked how Mendal, Archie and I met. I explained how as a young boy, I saw them loading heavy equipment onto a wagon. I ran over and asked if I could please help lift the heavy things.
Our People
I brought up my interest in learning Sylvan. Nathalie said it would help me communicate more easily when I was in the Damphenite Tangle.
Nathalie wanted to know when the last time I was with my own kind; Giants. I told her I’m a Half-Giant. I probably appear giant-like to tiny people though. I explained that I actually came to Kantas to find the Mysterious Mountain in the hope I’d find other Goliaths, and hence other strong people - no luck though. I found the Mysterious Mountain, and the mysterious thing about it is that it isn’t actually a mountain. I did, however, find fellow strong adventurers in the Dawnlands, who have impressed me and I’m glad to call comrades. And even magic-users, who could all do with spending more time on their strength and conditioning, have equally impressed me too. So, no mountain, but plenty of comrades, just like how it was in the Iron Strong Company - but more magic. However, to Nathalie’s actual question, the last time I was surrounded by Goliaths was back on Iron Mountain.
Until Next New Moon
It was sad to see Nathalie go. But, we had the next New Moon to look forward to. Hopefully, I will have learned some Sylvan by then to show Nathalie.
At worse, the new tattoo was tolerated. But I actually think it was approved. I will not risk another one though - and what is up with benefactors casting magical spells directly onto adventurers’ bodies? Whatever happened to casting spell charges into objects, like daggers, or necklaces? Archie pointed out that I don’t have any disliking to the Stone Hand Technique tattoos on the back of my palms. It is a fair point.
