While in New Hillborrow, BB receives a message delivered by a courier from Port Ffirst. The message bears the sigil of Ernetta Jund. In the letter Ernetta apologises for not getting back to BB earlier. BB's material turned out to be of extreme interest and she decided to research it a bit longer and cross-reference it. The book and parchment BB gave her are written in the same language and style of other equally old material she has investigated for other adventurers recently. Normally she does not share this kind of information with third parties, but she is making an exception now. Unfortunately parts of the book and parchment are written using some sort of cypher. However the are ample parts she could magically read.
The book is some sort of journal that narrates the main events over a few years of a large community of Yuan-ti. Ernetta initially thought the book must have somehow found its way here from the Sword Coast, but she then realised to her surprise that the Yuan-ti colony was based in Kantas, in an area that goes from what you know as the Sunset Spine to the islands East and South-east of PF. The diary seems to be written for internal use only and does not report dates in a calendar she could understand, but some of the descriptions of the starry skies and the geography of the land suggests the Yuan-ti colony must have populated these lands at least 500 to 400 years ago.
The years covered in the journal were dramatic, but Ernetta does not have a full picture. Certainly the community faced a threat, but the language used is religious and prophetic, making hard for her to understand the facts. Zealots for the East are mentioned multiple times. Certainly the authors of the journal were preparing a counterattack and some kind of escape plan.
