A young woman stumbles as she steps onto a pier in Port Ffirst, having been at sea for the past… weeks? Months? She lost count. There is a difference that she feels acutely, between falling asleep in your own bed to a peaceful lull of the ocean waves (which covered the sounds of distant battles thanks to her father's thaumaturgy) and feeling the heartless expanse beneath your feet as it wants to swallow your tiny vessel and consume you whole, smother you with its thick, sluggish darkness. Well, to be fair, the sea was probably calm most of the way and the ship sturdy but Hestia has always been prone to exaggerations, and can you really blame a fire genasi out of her element? At times she even missed the desert she grew up in; she hadn't expected the ocean to be even lonelier somehow.
She is tall and thin and still has that angular teenage awkwardness in her movements. Add her inquisitiveness to it and Hestia looks younger than her age, which somewhat softens her otherwise intimidating appearance. Skin the colour of coal looks rough and split by deep lines which glow with a dull red lava-like effect, a result of her elemental heritage. The black clothes are simple and comfortable and cover most of her skin. Her bald head and bright eyes light up with flames as she gets excited, which, at the site of a new city, happens at every other corner.
Hestia heads straight for a tavern pointed out to her to finally get warm near a proper hearth with a floor beneath her feet that won't careen at every moment and with lamps that don't swing right into your head. And then maybe she could figure out where to learn the spells she's after.
