My Lady,
Given a continued lack of direction from Yourself, I have stayed within the Kantas region picking up odd-jobs here and there to maintain myself with lodgings and sustenance. The most notable of recent events was a follow-up visit to the area surrounding Kundar, or more specifically the mountains nearby.
Myself and a few others met up at the northern gate, with our new associate. I will be honest, I took the time to make meticulous notes regarding this encounter, and… don’t have them to hand. I assure you, I will do better in time.
At this meeting near the gate, I was duly noted as the leader of the group by the kobold (who thankfully was either very much unware or very much didn’t care for the antics we engaged in within the Kundar city walls the week prior), which… I didn’t decline, but also didn’t massively appreciate. I do not do leading, I do… well, hurtling first-hand into danger seems to be my speciality, really. Our task was to locate a long-lost monastery in the Kundarian mountains. This time, instead of a caravan trip, we walked. Our guide was ably assisted by myself, his notes on the journey from Kundar to our location were meticulous, and it was a simple task to reverse and follow. We made good time, if I recall correctly.
We skirted the city (for the best, I feel. I think I should give Kundar a wide berth for a few weeks, lest I be notorious) and proceeded towards the mountain path. I scouted ahead from the air (the first time I stretched my wings properly since the ogre incident), and was able to spot our potential path. We proceeded along this path, coming up to a fortress-gate-like building. Inside it looked like it had been ransacked, and when continuing I believe we found the very kobolds who found the entrance before us. They were worried that we would replace them as agents of “The Mistress”. I will admit, I misheard this as them wanting to be replaced, and thought this to be a positive for us, before my associates quickly assisted with correcting my mistake. Needless to say, the majority of these kobolds, if not all of them (not urban-dwellers, I will add) are… no longer here to fool me a second time.
We then met The Mistress herself, who thought us able replacements for her previous minions, who failed her (this also helped to correct my mistaken thoughts from earlier). The Mistress asked us to break into the tunnels beneath the literate tree writing in Infernal (hey, having three Tieflings in the coterie helped in this instance!), and get whatever is in there for her. Alas, I will be unavailable to make the return journey to complete this adventure, and sadly returned home (or where I am considering my home for now) feeling slightly… more cautious.
Yours in eternal service,
Arkadius Hogg
