The road to Daring Heights wasn't eventful saw a few rabbits, deer and the occasional other travelers.
Once arrived, I found myself parched in need of a drink and possibly some rest. after asking one of the locals, I was pointed towards to the three headed etting. Saw a few other adventurers looking up the same advert which brought me to town! I exchanged pleasantries with them Kritter the Tabaxi rogue, Igrainne a half drow ranger, Andariel wood elf ranger, Theo Drow mage and Bubbles a Tiefling mage.
We sat down at one of the tables and the tavern keep Coll came over and asked us for our drinks! We gave him our orders, when he came back he noticed my lute strapped to my back saying that it's been a while since they had a bard in. I offered to play a song which he approved of, so i unstrapped my lute and started checking my tuning while giving a wide look at the patrons for this Tuesday afternoon and it gave me the impression of something both slow, relaxing yet fast and energetic so decided to give the far eastern melody another try since my last audience enjoyed the other day! Moments after i started playing chatter and clanking stopped and everyone looked at me while i played. The moment i finished i got approving taps out pretty much everyone; but my fellow adventures gave an excited wave of clapping. Master Coll offered me to come over another time for another round. Then he asked what brought us to town and we mentioned we are here for checking on the missing person job Kapel. He explained how a good fellow he is and gave us directions to his house where we can speak to his husband.
Once we arrived the Tiefling who obviously had a drink too strong for her! went ahead and knocked on the door. Cede the husband opened the door and let us in saying that Lady Lasira was there too, we introduced ourselves properly to both. Lady Lasira Gemfinder as she introduced herself, said that it was lucky we came in that time for she was personally considering to hire a group to do some reckoning. Saying that she had a guest who got kidnapped recently luckily they got rescued but she wanted to know if there was any connections between both! But while talking she mentioned wanting a proof to trust our capabilities, which was absolutely fair enough. No one tried anything except trying to talk her into it; that's when the thought came to mind! with absolute no malice i sent an illusion into her mind which she didn't realize was happening. She saw a beautiful field of grass and flowers on a perfect spring day with only the most fragrant of scents! Everyone saw her stand up a bit with a look of delight and confusion on her face. Just before she could hurt herself by bumping into a chair or table, I removed the illusion and apologized for the intrusion on her mind but it was the best way to show our capabilities. She smiled and looked approving then offered our rates of pay!. She then politely mentioned that she had private business with Cede which all of us respected except for Igrainne who waited till we left and had some sort of heated conversation with her.
We arrived at the Chasm we saw the place where Kapel disappeared from blocked by ropes. A large fellow was near the chasm who looked like some sort of military; he stopped us and told us that this is a restricted area without proper credentials. We explained that we didn't ask any to be prepared due to the fact it is our own risk going to the under dark. So he saw the reasoning in our request to go down the chasm and investigate. That's when he introduced a little drow girl called Lyda; who explained that she saw somebody being kidnapped and ruffled not far from here and she felt obliged to tell someone up here. So we agreed to follow her down and into the underdark! When were going down I went ahead to check first giving myself Cat's Grace and climbed down easy jumping halfway to land quietly. looked around saw nothing when i heard Andariel fall behind me slightly hurting himself but nth serious. We finally noticed some signs of recent just a few days struggle. Lyda pointed at the direction we are supposed to head at, we decided that Andariel and Igrainne should take the lead Bubbles, Theo and Kritter in the middle with Lyda while me taking the back. We traveled for like three hours. Before we reached an entrance to a cave managed to see a small spider figured it was worth a try so i spoke to it! offering a fly as a treat if it can find out how many are in the cave and what they are saying! the spider just skittered ahead. When i saw the party is preparing to head on towards the voices we were hearing! I asked them to wait for the spider who might give us valuable information, only managed to get weird looks from them. Igrainne even said if the under dark taking it's toll on me; alas they listened and waited, a few minutes later a spider appears i tried speaking to it but it doesn't answer back with an attempt to poke it my finger passes through it showing it was an illusion possibly made by one of the mages!
Minutes later the spider never appears so we just headed in but some were annoyed we had to wait all this time doing slightly too much noise, when we realized the voices have gone silent we were at the entrance of the cave. There were 2 goblins and one larger one looking at us; some armor and robes hanging to the side of the cave and a figure in chains at the back. One of the goblins throws a bag which got ripped open releasing a swarm of dragon flies near me but they went for Igrainne, Andariel went with his Scimitars attacking at the large goblin, so I gave him an Endurance of a bear to fight harder; Bubbles started sending spells in the shape of snakes at all opponents; Kritter sending bolt after bolt at all; Theo with his green energy beams; Igrainne with her bow. suddenly from the hung clothes a flying creature resembling a robe appeared and started approaching me; while Theo unluckily got swarmed by the dragon flies who kept on biting him. Andariel managed to make the large goblin pull back who went to the chained figure, fearing he might try something i warned him in his mind not to dare do it if he wants to live! which stunned him for a second giving Bubbles the opportunity to dispatch him! The flying creature went for me and wrapped it self around me biting into my shoulder. I could feel people attacking it not considering they might hit me instead, with annoyance i showed my true form of a decaying angel trying to thwart the creature but i didn't think in the pain the possibility it doesn't see me; pocked it with my rapier barely,it bites again and stung me too giving me horrendous pain but i suffered through it seeing a bolt just mere hairs from my face sticking out of the creatures head that came from kritter. Theo was now where to be seen but definitely hear him blabbering just into the hallway of the cave. With a few more attacks the party dispatches of the rest of the goblins and Theo destroys the swarm too.
We went to the figure using a spear we broke his chains off Igrainne offered him a healing potion when Andariel asked if i could find out what was the robe he was holding for he could sense magic of it. Doing it for him he offered to pay i request the other gothic silken robes which he gave. We collected what we could, helped Kapel up! with Lyda's help we ran back to the surface. returning him to his husband. We then headed towards Lady Lasira's company headquarters. Explained everything, so she paid us and we headed off. All in all very profitable day. Should be fine on funds for a while. Maybe will take Coll to his offer tomorrow and will see how to go at it!
