A note in the Three Headed Ettin reads:
"I have found an ornate and very well-made hide armor during my recent expedition to the Underdark. This mighty piece of armor can be yours, for the right price. If interested, ask for Andariel."
*This is a Hide Armor+1, please post your offers below. Gold or equipment of equivalent value will be considered, in particular enhanced light armor, magic trinkets or light weapons/sabres.

Sky asks around as to where Andariel might be found...? Andariel is currently resting in the saloon of the Three Headed Ettin.

What do they look like? Would Sky have noticed them during their earlier trip to the Ettin to visit the noticeboard? Two aarakocra, one magic stone and all that.

What do they look like? Would Sky have noticed them during their earlier trip to the Ettin to visit the noticeboard? Two aarakocra, one magic stone and all that. Andariel is not particularly noteworthy. He is a gruff, lean muscled wood-elf who keeps to himself. That hide armor+1 however is a piece of beauty, expertly fashioned by the drow elfs of the Underdark. It is clear from a single glance that this is a piece of armor well worth its cost!

An Elf approaches your table; tall, thin, pale - verging on the colouring of the Drow, but with none of the self-consciousness or guardedness of that tribe when above ground. Their expression is open and their eyes warm. Both ears are pierced multiple times, with chains or hooks hanging from each ring. They are wearing a curious robe: wide at the shoulders and knees, but cinched in at the waist; the fabric itself has small overlapping wooden panels sewn into it and is a vibrant red. They are carrying a goblet of wine and a mug of ale; they bow briefly to you as they set both down on the table.
"Well met, elf-brother" they say in Elvish, "it is good to see one of the forest kin in this place. May I introduce myself and offer you a drink?"

Andariel looks up surprised for the briefest of moments, not expecting wood-elf tongue in these parts; "well met brother", he says hesitantly, "how may you be of service?"

“I am Skylerian Morningdew, but please call me Sky. Are you Andariel?” They gesture to the two drinks. “Would you prefer wine or ale? Truth be told, friend, I am new to town and you are the first Elf-kin I’ve met since arriving. It is always welcome to meet another and be able to talk the old language.”
They sit back in their chair, folding their arms into wide, voluminous sleeves. There’s the slightest creak of noise as they settle themselves into their seat - the first noise you’ve heard them make bar talking.
“I did have another reason for approaching you. I’m shortly to make a journey to Vorsthold. I heard there are a number of Drow living near there. In the Underdark. I was wondering if you could tell me anything about them? Or knew anyone who could?”

Andariel leans back in his chair, his interest piqued. "The Underdark you say? Yes, I have explored some of the tunnels close to the surface of Daring Heights, near the chasm... But that merely scratches the surface of it. It is dangerous down there for one untrained, but I trust you knew that already. There is a Drow village not too far from the chasm access, and I have heard of a large city as well, ruled by a mighty Drow matriarch. Might I ask why you seek to venture there? I have a..."
Andariel works his jaws, clearly unfamiliar with the feeling of his throat as he forms the word, trying it out as if for the first time "...friend who has a special interest in these matters - Igrainne; I believe she is somewhere in Daring Heights as well, chasing after a lead. She might be able to tell you more."

"Aha, scratching the surface. Most droll. You hide a keen wit under that gruff demeanour. My word, a chasm to the Underdark on the borders of Daring... I imagine the authorities have it under the control."
They lean forward and pick up the wine goblet, looking at the Elf siting across from them with a slight smile "I shall assume you'd prefer the ale - if you drink alcohol at all, that is. Thank you for the information; I shall seek out this Igrainne as soon as possible."
They take a sip of their drink, replacing the goblet on the table and slowly nodding over the right shoulder. "As I said, I'm new in town and looking for some employment and a way to build connections. There's a notice on the board over there pertaining to an investigation requiring tact and diplomacy - spheres I am well versed in - and a possible connection to the Underdark in Vorsthold. And then I saw your bill of sale for the armour posted right next to it. I was thinking of purchasing it as a present or gift for any Drow we met; it might be a useful bargaining tool. It seemed too perfect an opportunity to pass up in conjunction with the mission. Do you have the item here?"

Andariel demurs the alcohol (he had to find out the hard way that it diminishes his senses) but takes a swig from the mug of goat's milk in front of him. "I still have that armor, yes, it was a precious find. Quite expensive too, I reckon, it would make a princely gift. How much would you pay me for it? Or do you have something of equal value to trade perhaps?"

"As I say, I have just arrived in town, carrying only what I could on my horse's back. I have nothing to trade at the moment, but could pay you 500gp for it?"

Andariel raises an eyebrow "that seems a bit low for such a well-crafted piece. How about I hold on to it for now, and when you have something suitable to trade it for, we shall speak again? Maybe you pick up something during your expedition to Vorsthold."

Sky laughs softly “Oh a skilled negotiator, I see!” They glance around at the otherwise empty saloon. “I certainly wouldn’t want to lose out to all these other keen bidders...” They wink at you. “750 and I bring you something interesting from my trip. Maybe more gold, maybe an item I find. Like you found this one...” Sky puts the slightest emphasis on the word ‘found’ intimating that there’s a fine, semantic line between adventuring and plundering, and who are we anyway to sell on what isn’t really ours in the first place.

Andariel furrows his brow, working out the subtle nuances in that line; he is clearly not used to holding longer conversations. " 'The strong do what they can, and the weak suffer what they must' is a lesson I learned on the long road that led me to this place. But very well, I agree to your deal, 750gp now, and whatever trinket you find on your trip to Vorsthold. I hope you find a good use for it."
