Mathew Mentar

A day has passed since the incident with that crab at the bridge and that undead coming after Menace. As Mathew walks through the streets of Port Ffirst thinking to himself :

“Just when I thought it was going to be a nice and quiet day, that guy starts shooting projectiles, at every moment just after ONE DRINK!! Some people just can’t handle their drinks. Oh well, it wasn’t as if it was intentional and I did avoid most of it. Hopefully he starts feeling better soon, after all dying and coming back can be really draining. I will go check on him later, maybe even try to find out more about that guy.”

Mathew finds himself back the small metal door hidden in the alleyway where he took Sheryl the day before. He even should explain himself to Zyketel, for he did ask him in his mind to act neutral which he did, if a bit dry. Knocks on the door and moments later the small iron slide opens and he can see Zyk’s glowing amber eyes looking at him.

“Key?”

As Mathew takes out his coin with a blossom engraved into it saying “ I am alone, sorry about yesterday. You can be a bit too much sometimes coz.”

Door opens and the giant of the man just pulls him into rib cracking hug.

In bellowing laughter he says “ You know I would never embarrass you Tiny Matty, but next time no promises about keeping the place on the quiet form ” While pushing Mathew to the inside, where there can be heard alot of chattering around by the patrons, many of whom either winked or waved at Mathew.

As the lights start dimming. The chatter quit quickly and everyone was looking at the stage Zyk says “ You’re lucky you came now, She is just about to start. ” as he turns Mathew around to see a dazzling Tiefling woman in golden locks that makes his heart skips a beat seeing the woman that was his childhood crush Afnarei. Then she starts singing in her seductive way entrancing everyone in her voice with just the simple addition of finger clicking, a drum and a lute.

“ No One Calls You Honey. When You’re Sitting On a Throne. ” As she ends her song, and the room remains quiet for a moment before a roar of cheers and whistling booms from everywhere.

As Afnarei approaches Mathew who looks petrified in his spot and she caresses his face in purr of a voice says “ I am so happy to see you again little Matty, Jacquine has been worried sick. No letters to your dear Mom? ” with a light slap on his cheek she removes her hand saying“ Naughty boy! ” in a small smile.

As her hand move away and she goes wrapping her arm around Zyk, Mathew’s eyes widen noticing the matching wedding rings on both their hands.

“ You finally asked her! ” Mathew exclaimed.

Zyk answers “ Finally got the courage a few months ago, just after you jumped on that ship head here ”

“ More like it took him four attempts to actually finish the question ” Afnarei chimed in a melodious giggle.

“ It was a small and lovely service at your mother’s mansion and she even gave us the rare pleasure of performing for us and hosting, all as a wedding gift. But enough about this, Zyk here says you brought a lovely lady yesterday. Who is she?” with a wink at the end.

Zyk smartly detaches himself and slips away under the guise of having to do something at the back, leaving Mathew at the mercy of his wife.

Mathew blushes as he notices Zyk slip away saying, “ She is just a good and dear friend, but nothing of that sort. ”

Afnarei looks at him with a mischievous smile before saying, “ Well I will find out for myself later. ” as she reaches behind the bar and picks up a small ornate wooden box and she waves around unlocking the magic lock and hands it to Mathew “A few letters from your mom. ” As she plant a small kiss on his cheek and goes to pour herself and him a drink.

They start chatting and catching up, when he hears Zyk call for him from the stage “ Hey little Matty come here. ”

And Mathew grumples back as he downs his glass of wine “ Just cause your 80 years old doesn’t give you the grounds to call me little.”

“ What’s that? ”

Mathew continues “ Nothing. What do you need? ”

Zyk answers “Pass me your lute on go on the piano, me and the boys are looking for one more person to play my little devil song. Remember it? ”

As he passes the lute he says, “ Yeah, just be careful and don’t pull on that string. Unless you want a big mess ” pointing at the extra string on it.

“ Aha.. I thought I sensed an enchantment from it ” As he moves his hand around it and mutters a few words “A thunder enchantment, interesting. Rough and still needs work but interesting idea. I will be sure to be careful, now go sit your butt on the piano stoll.”

Mathew sits and checks on the tuning as Zyk sits on another stoll. Two humans appear who give him a hug asking him about how he was and what he has been up to till Zyk tells them to go and get set. Belfire goes and picks up a Viola while Xavros sits in between a set of drums.

They start the performance and Mathew felt great but thought to himself during the performance “It’s great playing with them again, but with Arkadius and Sheryl feels just perfect.” As the room got lively by the music. He can only think of one thing “Can’t wait to introduce my new families to each other properly.”
