Mother Night Serpent, the games have ended and sadly I was not on the victorious side. No matter. I know you told me to enter them to make new contacts, find new people and see the power of those not just in my plane but in the Feywild too. There’s quite a few powerful people out there, many of whom we should try to get on our side, but also many we should try to avoid and be wary of.
With the games over, Mother, I wanted to finish up some business on my last days in the Feywild. My main goal was to try and find some well connected people around to keep in contact with and offer my services to, potentially. So many people were around looking for trinkets, looking for money. Let them. There’s so much more power in favours. So much more to be gained. But alas, I was unable to find anyone to make a connection with. I did find the flying one, though. I’d adventured with them before. Pieni, I believe. (I’m still working on remembering people’s names. It is proving slightly helpful). They are an amusing one. I can sense so much power and strength in them. Dare I say stronger than I, but they rarely uses it. I do not think they have the mindset to ever be brought over to our cause, Mother. They flew down to talk to me, recognising me from our past travels and during our conversation they started casting a spell, some form of conjuration. They made a few magical animals appear out of thin air. An impressive skill but one I had no time for and one I wasn’t entirely sure was friendly or not. I still haven’t ascertained their nature. I thunderstepped away from them, heading towards the bar to drink and reassess my next step. They didn’t take kindly to that, as they attempted to cast a spell on me as I was walking away. I’m still unsure of what that spell was. It seemed like an offensive one from them which is a new side to their personality which I hadn’t seen much of before. I did quite appreciate that. As I turned around to deal with them a Tiefling carrying a Gnome ran into the middle of us, seemingly trying to calm down the fighting. I left Pieni in a ball of darkness before entering the bar and sitting down with one of the winners of the games.
Igrainne is a fun one. A drunk one. They were… permanently drunk it seemed. I have not travelled with them before but they seemed to be enjoying the revelry of victory. A pleasure I could not deny them. As I sat down on their table The new Tiefling and Pieni had not yet followed, so for cautions and amusements sake I turned into another of the winners, Lady Sunday. The reaction to this guise was… interesting. Lady Sunday, I am led to believe, is a champion and well loved around these areas and a chosen of Titania’s. So this guise I assumed would bring some respect, but seemingly the bar and the staff were really concerned and threatened by my presence. Maybe I misread the ending of the games and Lady Sunday’s rejection. I assumed it to be playful banter, Mother, but it would appear much more serious than I first figured. I will have to bare that in mind for the future.
Eventually Pieni, the Tiefling and the Gnome joined in on the bar but none of them seemed to see through my guise and at first assumed me to be Lady Sunday. They seemed to be looking for my Blue look but were unable to find anyone matching that description. Mother your powers of guises and looks has continued to be a helpful and beneficial one, whilst also one I take pleasure from. I must see what else I can do with this skill. I have worked on the voice and been able to imitate the speech of those I have travelled with so even when they joined the table they could not tell the difference from Lady Sunday. It was a very pleasurable moment for myself I must say, Mother.
The bartender of this establishment was clearly worried about my guise’s presence here. I decided to talk to him privately within his mind and indulge on his worry. He was so panicked. It’s precious how easily some of these beings can be rattled. Though my fun came to an abrupt end when one of Titania’s Eladrin walked through the door. As they did so, I changed my guise to that of a seemingly unassumingly elven girl. I do not know what the others then suspected but I came under no attack or interrogation so they appeared to be fine with it. The Eladrin seemed to walk straight up to Igrainne, talking to her in Sylvan. Giving her a message. At this stage, our table was full of the drow (Igraiine) the Tiefling (I later heard called Rama), the Gnome (Sava), the bird person (Pieni), an elf (Levuka) and the rogue (Travoor). We were later informed of the gist of the Eladrin’s message, she had tasked Igrainne and anyone who was willing to help to track down and kill/remove a hag. A simple enough task that after a little deliberation we decided to embark on.
It was a two day travel to where this hag was meant to be and during that time, I felt it best to maintain the Elven woman guise. None of my travel companions seemed to be that bothered by it and the trip through the Feywild was one of relative ease, till we came till what we assumed was the hag's house. As we got closer the rest of the party took a more stealth like tactical approach. Amusing. Mother, I was in good spirits so decided to walk head on towards this hags house. I had dealt with a few in my past so was not bothered about playing this tactically. I know I can deal with them. You have given me the power, Mother.
I approached the Hags hut, soon followed by Rama and Igrainne. The hut was, normal. Full of herbalism trinkets and alchemical things but no signs of the hag. We soon were trapped in the hut as vines burst up around the hut, trapping us inside. An impressive display by the hag. I must admit I had not expected that from them. I was, however, not worried. Looking at my companions inside the hut, I judged Rama to be the stronger fighter and Thunderstepped them outside of the hut and away from the vines, letting them out to hopefully do damage to this hag if we could find it.
When we appeared outside this hut, we could see no hag. I was surprised to see the sight of a Polar Bear trapped in vines with a monkey by his side. I fear I was too concentrated on that when some vines rose up and entangled me. An impressive plan by the hag, to keep us restrained whilst she stealthed beneath the swamp surrounding her hut. A strong tactic indeed but Mother, you have blessed me with powers that help in a multitude of situations. I summoned again. Bringing forth yet another Barluga to do our biding. Within no time it found the hag hiding underneath the swamp and pummeled down on her, recklessly with it’s fists, with it’s bites. It was savage. The hag teleported away to another part of the swamp but that was no worry, the demon smelled her out, he ran and leaped towards her, ready to attack again. Ready to kill this creature. It was then, Mother, when things did not go to plan. The vines that had trapped me were causing me damage, causing me pain. A momentary lapse in judgement and I lost control of the beast. A mistake I must be more cautious of in the future. I could not see what happened next but soon the vines dropped from my body. As soon as they did I regained sight of the demon and Eldritch blasted the demon, dropping it and sending it away. With the demon gone, I saw the rest of the party all surrounding the hag but, oddly, not attacking it. I couldn’t quite figure out what was going on but they seemed to no longer be trying to kill it. With them all fixated on this hag and with no apparent danger facing us, I left them to deal with what they wanted to do whilst I went to search the hags home.
I searched it all, Mother. I took her books, her supplies, her money. I may not see the value in all of it but I felt you’d appreciate me taking power away from her and potentially using it as bargaining chips for others. Many other creatures value their money and their potions, so gaining these will be very valuable in the future.
Whilst in this hut, I was unsure of how the others would react. They had seen me summon the demon but still were not that bothered or aware of my true blue Tiefling persona. As a precaution, I made myself look like a captured, beaten, hurt elven girl. As if a prisoner to the hag. I threw over her cauldron and left the house a mess before then attempting to leave. As I did the rest were still dealing with the hag. They had it bound up when suddenly they were engulfed in darkness. It gave me even more time to get away. They left the darkness to see no hag with them. Looking around, the Drow saw me and launched an arrow that pierced my shoulder. An impressive shot but not one that would concern me in this moment. I might have to travel with this Drow in the future. They seem like a fascinating one.
Ultimately, it was an fascinating end to my time in the Feywild. I may not have made some of the connections I intended but I have understood my powers more and found even more adventures. Navigating my relationships with them will be interesting, Mother.
I will need to ascertain where I stand with my travellers next time. Especially the bird one, Pieni. I think they’ll be somewhat… antagonistic against us. I’d want to see their fury. I want to see that rage. Maybe if they we can bring out that side they could be tempted to see what we have to offer, Mother Serpent. They are an animal lover, after all. They might have some time for the Serpent.
Lavuka seems to fear us. I respect their power of turning into other animals but they seem to be… learning. We could potentially use this fear as a way to keep them in line/keep them in check.
The Gnome, Sava, they were enjoyable company. And with no allegiances we might well yet be able to bring them to your side. When the time is right, Mother.
The Drow, if they’re not constantly drunk, might be an Ally for the future. Will have to see if they’re still drunk next time we meet or if that was just the joy of winning.
Travoor I am unsure of. They seem a capable rogue and I enjoyed messing with them and their newley acquired smoke googles. Will need to travel with them more before I know what else to do with them, Mother.
Rama is a fascinating one. I did not read much about them from my time with them but had heard the odd stories about their fighting ability. Being up close to Rama, they struck me as honour bound but with a low tolerance for anything against their wishes. They would be… one I would not want to cross unless I was prepared.
