An old man in his late 60s Morgan Reed is a grizzled old life cleric who helps all he can and offers second chances to all those that will accept Lathander. He wears the vestal robes of his Temple along with chainmail underneath and is armed with naught but a sturdy wooden shield with a relief of a rising sun etched into it, a simple club and a sling which he carefully disguises as a sash for his robes.
His parents were craftsmen and owned a small townhouse in (appropriate town name for location) in a nice temperate highland area. Orphaned at a young age, his mother died giving birth, father became distraught, turned to drink and beat the child. One day Morgan got angry and at the age of 13 shoved a dagger through his fathers eye. He was soon chased after for the debt incurred by his fathers drunken gambling and he became an urchin. At first he just stole but would go into fits of anger and kill anyone who looked at him funny. Eventually he found killing therapeutic and began to do it on a regular occurrence. After a while killing beggars became boring so he made his way up the social ladder and the city watch took notice. He was captured, tried and sentenced to death. The night before his death he was approached by a priest, A Dawnlord claiming to serve Lathander and that such young life should not be wasted, there is always a chance for redemption if the oath to serve is taken. At first Morgan refused, he just wanted to end his suffering on this earth. The priest reached out to him and for the first time in his life Morgan felt love, joy and peace emanating from the priest. He began to cry, dropping to his knees and swearing he would take any oaths to experience those positive emotions. After an arduous trial period to test his devotion he became an initiate and swore to never kill unless to save a life, to help all those in need and to give even the most despicable of creatures a chance for redemption just as he was given a chance, for all life is sacred. One a mission to spread his faith to a far off land on the other side of a huge forest he was ambushed by a pack of hungry wolves. He fought the wolves to the death first with his sword, and eventually once that was lost with a rock. Even when the fight was done and 2 of the five wolves still alive fled he continued to bludgeon the dead wolves, overcome with fear, until he passed out from blood loss. He awoke high in a tree, being tended to by a beautiful young wood elf. She told him of how the wolves came to her for aid, and upon finding him she brought him back to her druid circle. He told her about his mission, his faith and his oaths and she in kind shared hers, and that the oath he took to spare creatures should be extended to beasts as they have just as much right to live. Begrudgingly he accepted her views and agreed that although his actions were justified in his mind he wanted to eradicate those wolves. While he recovered he spent some time training with the druid circle and learned how to commune with nature and channel some of its powers to aid him and when he was healthy returned to his church sharing his experiences. He serves his temple as a wandering cleric, spreading the good word of redemption and offering second chances to all he meets. Most recently the temple has asked him to travel to the Kantas Expanse. To establish a church of Lathander and aid all who require it in establishing this frontier.
