Hey again, Jett here. Thought I'd make an alternative, and am now switching Magnus with him, as I think Galen would be of more use progressively in party situations.
Galen Cereborn
Age: 19 years
Height: 6'0
Weight: 175lbs
Eyes: Hazel
Skin: Tanned beige
Hair: Jet Black

Background: Galen Cereborn was born to a human mother and elven father and growing up the suburbs of Waterdeep, and though well raised, handsome and charming, Galen never really found himself fitting in among others as is the case with many Half-Elves. His mother, Adriana Martas a highly skilled seamstress and tailor, did the best she could to help him through his young years and make friends without letting him get away with causing too much trouble and his father Iliris, while around in his youth eventually had to return to his people, only referring to this as his “duty”. Galen has not had any contact with his father since and only truly knows that he returned to a major elven city hidden in a massive forest.
Being young, foolish and strong-willed, he responded to this by acting up and making trouble. Never anything too serious and not for any nefarious reasons, he just wanted to have fun. At least, that’s what he said. In reality he was truly worried for his mother and himself. His mother had always been of frail composition and often had spells of ill health and while not many show hate to “half-races”, some have a terrible loathing for “Mixed breeds”. Some of these people would vandalize their home and disparage his mother’s name to prevent her from getting good work. As a result of these harsh realities, Galen learned how to earn and con his way to the gold using whatever means he could.
He was only a child when he started making trouble, but he continued on well into his teenage years. During this time he found himself a group of friends. A rag-tag bunch of kids his age who were just like him. All different races and backgrounds but untied under premise of fun and money. There was Seamus a Halfling with a gift for lockpicking, Shani, her brother Coran two humans each with their own talents (Shani’s being seduction, and Coran’s intimidation.), and Tinks who was always tinkering away (thus the nickname). At last he truly fit in somewhere.
Then last year, a burglary they were running on a noble's house went wrong and his friends were all caught and with Seamus being executed as a the second in command of a "powerful thieves' guild" though there have been no such groups in many years. His other friends were jailed, with the depraved and craven Lord Darmas, whom they were stealing from pulling certain strings to twist and turn their tale into one of further evil and greed in the eyes of the law.
Journey to Kantas
Galen decided to go to Kantas, through the portal after hearing about it from a helpful wagon driver while he was making his escape from Waterdeep. He decided that this would be a great place to go in order to hone his skills and gain powerful allies to aid him on his quest. Plus he has a distaste for open ocean (he can't see what's under him) and also thought a great place to hide from those who would pursue him would be to journey though a portal. It is here Galen Cereborn will shape his own destiny. He slips through as an explorer, truly looking for glory, riches, and power on the other side.
