A letter is pinned to the noticeboard in the Ettin.
Dear my darling adventurers,
You are all cordially invited to the most wonderful of evenings. An event to showcase the very best that Daring has to offer.
Like a phoenix from the ashes, Daring will rise having defeated the terrible plague which afflicted our magical home. We need to show that we are no shrinking violets, and that Daring is open for business.
Therefore I will be holding a Grand Ball. There will be food, entertainment and of course, a dance!
The theme for this Grand Ball will of course be a masquerade, my favourite.
Needless to say such an event will need many hands to make it work. I'm therefore looking for the courageous adventurers of daring to protect the great and the good from any kind of misfortune.
You will of course be paid handsomely for this endeavour.
The finer details will be forthcoming at a later date.

Holy crap (literally). Protecting beauty, joy and light is literally Gineads job now he has taken his oath, and he has just been to Daring for the first time.

Uh....needless to say, Oriloki is somewhat perturbed by this development and is on-board.... ( andycd - I know I missed the downtime session, but one of the things Ori was super keen to investigate was the Duchess and her involvement with Daring. Any chance of still doing so, especially in light of this turn up for the spellbooks?!) |

Through my recent investigations, I have concluded - with a reasonable degree of certainty - that there are, or were, two distinct entities going by the moniker “The Duchess”; and this gala host is not the same as the vampire vanquished by you and your companions. I know this stretches credulity to breaking point, but all the evidence thus far points to this conclusion. |

This is why duchesses, counts, lords, &c. should specify what their duchy / county / fief actually is when they introduce themselves. ... is definitely not what Taffeta thinks, because she has no idea how feudal nobility works. |
