Something about a recent adventure hasn't sat right with Bodhi. At the bidding of Isabella, a wealthy farmer, we set out in pursuit of her young son Mark, as well as another kid, and a local sergeant. They'd gone to a church for safety from the plague, but Isabella hadn't heard back. Anyway, we got there, there was an ambush, and a swamp with various shadows and boggles and a fair bit of friendly fire. One kid was dead, but with our companion, the old gnome David Roundbelly, we brought back the boy, Mark, safely to his mother.
But to my eyes, there was something off about the whole situation. We never went to the church, and the church may have been the epicentre of the weird stormy weather that my druid senses had told me was unnatural. And something about the mother too. I'm not sure what it was about her - and one of our party members was unnecessarily rude to her so I never got to find out - but whatever it was deserved further investigation.
But what should I do now? Transform into a rat and sneak into her house? Spy? That seems non-bodacious, maybe not my style.
I received a letter from old David Roundbelly. He said that we needed to talk. He was worried. He sent me 20gp to settle my bar tab as a deposit for my help. We were supposed to meet at the Seashank. He didn't show.
Like I say, something is off. I'm a pretty chill kind of guy, but I've been looking over my shoulder everywhere I go in Port Ffirst. I think I might be being followed.
