A single note finds its way to the outskirts of Daring Heights, but is quickly passed around:
"Adventurers. Our seers tell us our hated enemy has found a weapon we thought they lost long ago. It is an evil thing to us, and could spell the doom of our king and our blood. Take it from their hands but do not allow yourself to get caught or you will likely perish. Keep the weapon afterwards, we will also pay you handsomely, just make sure they can't bear it against us. Assemble yourselves and head North into the forest, our scouts will find you."
