This is the way Beets The Beetle (Feenix) and Zaspar want it to be.
Zaspar stood still, gazing out over the city a few buildings away from the Three Headed Dragon.
The thought of Bugkour'ing across rooftops felt a daunting this morning, his hands were clammy and his heart pounding in his chest. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, drawing calm into his mind. With a familiar leap, Zaspar launched himself onto the nearest rooftop, the rush of air and the thrill of movement offering relief from the worry that had built up inside him.
As he vaulted from one roof to the next, his thoughts churned relentlessly. Would Beets even be there for their Draconic lesson? Would she even want to see him after everything that had happened? Each question he came up with was more worrying than the last. But he knew there was only one way to find out. And so, he landed on the rooftop of the Three Headed Dragon, steadying his breath as he stood at the edge.
Zaspar needn’t of worried though, Beets was there waiting for him.
She looked the same as ever, and smiled up at him, before patting the bit of slate tile on the rooftop beside her.
As Zaspar took a seat Beets reached into a bag, but instead of pulling out a book of Draconic she held out two muffins to him, same as ones she had brought the day they had met those few weeks ago.
“No lesson today,” Beets said simply, “except this. ‘Si mi bivai.’ I’m sorry.”
Zaspar looked back at her for a moment before he then smiled too.
He gave a nod and accepted a muffin, the knot of worry in his chest relieving as gently as two leaves being carried together on a soft autumn breeze.
They said no more, but just sat there together reflecting, enjoying the peace and each other's company.
