This ballad follows and summarises the events of "An eye for an eye", DMed by Tom M on 07/08/24
Finnegan wrote a song called "The ballad of the hag and geese".
"In the shadows deep, where the moonlight creeps,
Lived a rogue with a heart so bold,
He struck a deal with a hag so vile,
For a favor, a trinket was sold.
But the price was steep, and the rogue did weep,
For the hag took more than she gave,
So he gathered his friends, to the Feywild they’d wend,
In hopes to escape from the bond.
Through the twisted trees and the eerie breeze,
They found the hag’s cottage so old,
With three-headed geese and seven-head beasts,
Guarding secrets of stories untold.
While the others spoke, the rogue took his chance,
With a shadowy friend at his side,
Invisible, silent, they slipped through the dark,
But the hag, she knew where they’d hide.
Oh, the rogue sought to break the bond,
In the Feywild where the fey do roam,
Through geese with heads of three and seven,
They braved the path to the hag’s dark home.
The hag’s cold eye, it gleamed with glee,
As she named the price for her favor,
“Take an eye for an eye, in a mortal’s land,
Or fight, if you’ve the courage to waver.”
The rogue’s heart steeled, and he refused,
The battle was fierce, blood was spilled,
The geese’s beaks tore through armor and flesh,
But the rogue struck the hag with a will.
Two heroes fell, the mysterious A,
And the world’s best swordsman lay cold,
But the brave and charming bard,
With a song and a blade in hand,
Slew the beast with a heart so bold.
They returned from the realm of twisted dreams,
With the bodies of friends lost in fight,
To a cleric of Moradin, stout and true,
Who brought them back to life’s light.
Oh, the rogue broke the fey’s cruel bond,
In the Feywild where the fey do roam,
They mourned the loss, but victory found,
With the souls of their friends back home.
Now raise a glass to the brave and true,
Who faced the fey and survived,
For though they weep for those they lost,
They celebrate the lives revived."
