Florian’s vows were different from mine, but the choice to take them was just the same. It was as the ceremony was taking place that I began to wonder how appropriate they were for him. How much they suited who Florian is as a person.
I wonder if all Herald vows are similar…
Vows of the Herald of Meldrosa, the Jade Dragon, The Verdant Forest, The Life Bringer
Do you vow to shepard those who live in nature?
Yes.
Do you vow to guide and nurture the spirits of nature and all that they are?
Yes.
Do you vow to maintain the balance and to bring both life and death as to where it is needed?
Yes.
And do you vow to represent me, to be my Herald, and to go with honour and to bring yourself in my presence?
Yes.
Meldrosa said none of the Archwyrms have worshipers anymore. They did when they lived in Ashkha, but since then, their followers must have declined into obscurity.
Could this be what was given up to the Infinite? The belief of their followers?
Or is it something else?
Perhaps with our generation of Heralds something will change, or come back. Florian mentioned wanting to start a druid circle of his own somewhere in the Dawnlands now that he’s a follower of Meldrosa…
