OBSERVATIONS & EXCERPTS from the JOURNAL of SECOND ASSISTANT ARCHIVIST ORIANNA ÈIRIGH of ASHKHA
Going back through my journals and realising there are several of which have not been done is frustrating. Very frustrating.
Could something have been gleaned from all these incomplete journals? Possibly not. Would it have made it easier for I or any one else from our growing family see what we were dealing with? Maybe.
All I can do now is cast my mind back and reference my star maps, filling in the key facts and details from each journey…
None of our party (Matches, Calla, Frigus & Waffles, or Mendal) had been to the Fugue Plane before. Attempting to recall anything read in the Grand Archive or at Daring Academy was proving difficult so Calla decided it was worth the risk contacting a being on another plane to find out. Below were her questions and subsequent answers.
It is, at some point, where all mortal souls go. Calla boasted that elven souls being “special”, would not pass this way. If only- [the ink blots out from a water stain]
For those souls that do pass through three things happen:
Having seen this Wall, it caused many in our party to question where we would end up when our time came…
Using Kesserax’s key, I guided our way through the City of Judgement towards a place where many and endless tribunals occur, the seat of Azharul’s power and where he enacts his role in the Cosmic Wheel. And it was there where I saw, once again, the form of Desathrax.
Stellarum had asked me to come here for the purpose of helping one of her kin deal with the dragon that had attempted what few have accomplished — becoming a god. His defeat the year before has meant the Guardian of Souls has had him in his Halls since, and has thus been divided in his attention. Azharul asked us if we could find someone who could preside over his imprisonment solely and with full dedication, as it was past the point of ridiculousness and he needed to be getting on with the judgement of the souls of dragons.
We found a black dragonborn, Klaus is his name, who was familiar with the lands we came from. He had died some years prior by a dragon, but upon hearing the request and the suggestion that the deal could be helped with, accepted the job. Now the Would-Be-God is kept secured in a lantern and in the safekeeping of Kelemvor’s newest angelic warrior.
For helping him, Azharul entrusted me with his key. Of course, had I known what awaited us when we would return home, I would not have accepted it…

Attempting to recall anything read in the Grand Archive or at Daring Academy was proving difficult so Calla decided it was worth the risk contacting a being on another plane to find out. Below were her questions and subsequent answers.
- Does the City of Judgment contain a gate to Sigil? (Note: Answering this would answer many other planar magic questions, especially if we could return home.) — Yes.
- While in the Fugue Plane does magical healing work as it does on the material plane? — Consequently.
- Can the city be mapped through mundane means? — No.
- As living creatures, will we need to be stealthy in the city to survive it? — No.
- Can we trust the word of Azharul? — Yes.
It is, at some point, where all mortal souls go. Calla boasted that elven souls being “special”, would not pass this way. If only- [the ink blots out from a water stain]
For those souls that do pass through three things happen:
- If you are a follower of a certain faith, belief, or god, you sit and wait until the god or a servant of your god comes along and picks you up to go to that place
- If you are “a false” you are damned to judgement within the city; these are the servants of Kelemvor
- If you are a faithless you become one with what is called Wall of the Faithless
Having seen this Wall, it caused many in our party to question where we would end up when our time came…
