Cassandra, the Avatar of Something Eldritch, has been causing impossible forms of chaos, seeming to target places of faith and divinity - first the Church of Waukeen, then a shrine to Lathander, and then the indefatigable paladins Varis and Baine. Her abilities seem beyond the scope of understood magic, and whatever the approach of Something Eldritch heralds, it will clearly be dire for the divinely attuned populace of the Dawnlands. In such a dangerous time, it would be a terrible idea for the local clergy to stray far from their temples.
So the clergy are straying far from their temples. It's fine, it's the annual multi-faith retreat where representatives of all the religions in the Dawnlands gather to discuss cooperation and cross-institutional issues. They'd already booked the ships - it's a nautical theme you see: 'Shared Horizons; Sacred Orisons.' It's not their strongest work.
Obviously, the ships are missing, and over two dozen priests of various denominations all dressed in stripey sailor outfits are lost at sea. Lady Saria Underwood has put out the call for adventurers, with the assumption that Cassandra is most likely involved.
This is a game for 5 players beginning in Port Ffirst.
