Captain Balto Thundercog is small, even for a gnome, but his voice can carry across the training yard any day. It is therefore both unusual and alarming when he walks up to the desk of Sergeant Derthaad, hops up into a chair without saying a word - staring off into the middle distance - and lets out a long sigh like his world has just been fundamentally shifted.
“Sergeant, I’ve got an assignment for you, and I won’t lie, it’s the most important I’ve ever given you.” His manner is quiet, calm, like he’s informing you that someone’s died. He drops a file on the desk with a few sheets of mechanically precise writing in it.
“Do you know what a Marut is? Big bugger from Mechanus - biggest of what’s basically their law enforcement so I’m told. Well, Aurelia and I just got out of a negotiation with one of them. It was dispatched here to arrest a Djinn by the name of Furacão for stealing from them. The details are in the file. Now if one of those giant mechy things starts running around Daring Heights, it’s going to be chaos - people screaming in the streets, houses being lifted up to check underneath them - you get the idea. So I told them we would solve the case for them, naturally. They’ve given us a day.”
He chuckles mirthlessly. “‘Course, the Marut means a Mechanus day, which it turns out means 9.7 hours. That’ll be about 9 and a half now. Better get started. Find the genie, find the prototype, get to the Town Hall - Aurelia can get in touch with the Marut and this will all be sorted without the entire populace running around and getting killed by an unstoppable rampaging machine. Keep this low key if you can, but any resources you need, just let me know. And grab some of your friends - if this goes sideways, we'll need everything we've got.”
This is a Graduation game for 6 players with spots reserved for Derthaad , Andy D , Celina Zabinski , Glint , stephena , Tayz Dale . The waitlist is open for signups however.
This game will use Discord A/V with Owlbear Rodeo 2.0 for combat if necessary.
