It’s a regular evening in the “Three Headed Ettin” – chatter, laughter, chairs squeaking, beer mugs clinking. Suddenly a booming voice fills every crack in the room: “WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON’T ACCEPT THESE? YOU GAVE THEM TO ME!” The tavern goes silent while everyone is looking for the source of the sound.
Only Coll, the bartender, responds: “Calm down, miss! I told you the special offer is over!” He is leaning over the bar and seems to be addressing a small gnomish woman, with skin of dark grey colour and dressed in black leather. Some of the regulars in the tavern recognized Zeenah. She’d been seen here before but always very quiet and somewhat grumpy, often frantically scribbling on a piece of parchment. Was that her speaking so loudly? No way.
She stares at Coll intensely, her tiny fists clenching for a few seconds, then gives up. “ARRRRGH! FINE!” – the same voice roars, now clearly coming out of her mouth. She throws a few colourful papers in the air, they seem to be some kind of vouchers, and stomps off to her table.
Oblivious to the stares, she drops her head in her hands, starts sobbing and mumbling “Why have you abandoned me?!”
To her surprise, the next day Zeenah discovered that wherever she went in Daring Heights, people knew her name.
