A dirt and dust covered Dwarf stands in the streets of Port Ffirst, squinting in the pale sunlight of the wintery morning. A pick axe on his back, and a barbed spear in his rough hands. He asks anyone who makes eye contact whether they can help return him to Vorsthold, his party were trapped underground, ambushed by a pack of intellect devourers and as they escaped the walls closed in, the roof collapsed and found himself cut off from his friends. The story tugs on a few heartstrings, even in the rougher parts of Port Ffirst where misery is by no means a new sensation. It gets passed from mouth to ear and eventually winds its way to Arilian who comes over in a cold sweat. His nightmares coming flooding back, memories of cold dirt crushing around them as they fled back through the caverns below Daring Heights. How far does this phenomenon stretch? What causes it? What can be done?
