Diplomatic dispatch from K'ul Goran:
Dear Councilors,
I am pleased to report that the political situation in K'ul Goran seems to have stabilized. With the defeat of the Behooved radicals and the victory of the loyalist forces at the Battle of Zot Goran during the brief civil war, it seems that our neighbours will finally be able to enjoy a measure of peace. Given the more relaxed circumstances, a number of loose ends are being taken up by the senate pro tempore, until the newly elected senators can be seated, chief among them is a special election to fill the now vacant seat of the late senator Kyra Stuurm, former leader of the Optimates. The senate has extended an invitation for observers from their neighbors in the Dawnlands, no doubt arranged by our well known ally and leader of the ascendant Purist faction, Marius Warborn. The Purist candidate for the seat is one known to some in our adventuring community: Vallen Cleaver, the current magistrate of Za'Suul. I hope the Council will continue to build on our good relationship with senator Warborn, who in all likelyhood will be the next senate leader.

Two letters arrive with you: one from the Daring Heights Council, informing you that you have been chosen to represent the Dawnlands at a special election in K'ul Goran in the capacity as an election observer; the other from senator Zakarus Rhodes of the Senate Armed Services Committee:
I have it on good authority that you will be visiting the republic soon to "observe" the special election, at senator Warborn's request. I cant promise you anything, but I ask that you meet with me before you decide on any course of action. Please trust me.
