The long walk back to Daring Heights gives Henri plenty of time to write, and with a book held in hand and quill floating above, a letter takes shape.

Father,
You will forgive my delay in writing to you once more. Events and their actors have been moving quite quickly as of late, and I find it difficult to find time to sit and write to you.
I did, however, find time to skip town and pick up a job in Port Ffirst. The notice seemed to point to a jealous shipmate, but it wasn't long after we arrived that we discovered this to be a slight lie.
You see, these sailors (read: pirates) had lifted a golden statue of Blibdoolpoolp from someone less deserving of it. And, because piracy was not trouble enough, instead of selling it and splitting the profits they instead decided that the last living amongst them would take the prize. A tontine, to be brief.
The issue being that the youngest amongst them, Radley, had the best chance of outliving the others. So they threw him overboard.
Then crew members start showing up dead. Our man, Fowler Four-Tooth, seemed to think that the last other surviving member, Roark, was behind the murders. Naturally, we go to check him out only to find him very dead, and very damp.
You may see where this is going.
Turns out dear Radley had become a revenant and had taken to stalking the members of his treacherous crew. Good on him, to be fair. By the time we returned to Fowler, he had arrived to cross the last name off his list and it wasn't long before the job was done.
However. It would turn out all that seawater had made Radley's memory a bit shot, and he figured I had a striking resemblance to the most handsome member of the crew. Why Radley would think that his crewmate would be up and about after having been gored by a harpoon is anyone's guess. But it meant I had to spend the next few minutes running around the Seashank dodging harpoons and poisonous waters.
Oh, to have been stuck with one of your fish hooks instead of that blasted harpoon. I'll scar for certain. Radley seemed to enjoy piercing his prey and pulling it in, which I can tell you hurt like anything.
He's at rest, now. They all are, and the gold we got from selling the statue will go a long way to easing the pain.
Henri
P.S. I hope you had a blessed Starfall, Father. I am sorry I was not there to walk to the temple with you. I miss her too. She sits at the side of Lady Luck now, I am sure. May we someday be reunited once more.
