Yin walks into his Castleside flat with two small takeaway boxes with Paradise Frost's iconography emblazoned on the lid, he tries to close the front door quietly as as to not disturb Mittens in case the young wizard was about or in the worst circumstance, Levkoi. That fey cat had ground his gears since arriving acting like he owned the place, and he got worse once Yin started to feel more of the summer feeling after the news and rumours coming from the Feywilds had his mind filled with worry and frustration. He shook his head out of the vicious cycle, it's just his mind getting intoxicated with Summer's burning anger. The young eladrin took in a deep breath in and out before placing one of the boxes in front of Mittens' door.
He strolled to the kitchen taking out a small plate, taking the cupcake out of the box delicately and placing it on the plate. Sitting by the kitchen table by the window he inspects the treat in front of him, the multicoloured frosting of the dessert and faint aroma of vanilla emanating from the cake itself soothed his soul. He carefully removed the paper wrapping folded it, placing it to the side.
Yin didn't have Will's fortitude after all.
There was still some warmth emanating from the treat reminded him of the treats from home that Avra would make for him when he needed it after a grim day with Lucan's brutal training or had a good day with his schooling from her. Deciding it was better to eat it now before it lost it's freshness Yin took a bite, after the first it brought him such joy he could not restrain himself and began to devour the whole thing. After cleaning the plate and disposing of the box and paper wrapping, he got to working at his desk.
Excerpt from Yinmaris' notebook post-adventure:
I can't believe it, after all thatbook stuff research referring to them and a big old labyrinth I met Will, an angel of Corellon, who is an absolute delight and I can't wait to meet them again. Arilian is okay I guess, the cold "emmisary" really needs to deal with his diplomacy skills and remove the icicle up his arse before we meet again but hey being a mocked diplomat must be rough, even if it is warranted due to being lacking in eloquence clearly. I mean I wish those cupcakes had drugs in them, at least then that insufferable wannabe noble snob would be tolerable as a psychedelic hallucination. I mean he acts like the greatest thing since cupcakes but hey I won that blah-blah battle so I guess I bite my thumb at him. He's fun I guess, occasionally but ironically he needs to chill and he had moments of being fun like when we vibed with Ronkk onto Nutroaster (that name makes me chuckle every time). Maybe we need to hang out more; he had his moments, not matter how fleeting where he was fun or at least not totally insufferable.
But Lilith was so awesome, she has or had a pirate ship I mean that's where fun stories are made and apparently there were squirrels there. I wonder if the squirrels assisted with her cool adventures. That is a question for next time I meet her. Ronkk was so funny, "minor tours" was a brilliant joke; he's smarter than he lets on, that big beautiful bard really knew how to bamboozle the squirrel. Thurghor is amazing as always, I loved the pink shadow magic he used to keep us hidden and he is good fun to hang out with his mushroom buddy vibing about.
Eleanor was a delight and I admired her skills at keeping the young ones at ease, and her oration skills were something else. Plus I appreciate how she and her steed knew how to go fast, that journey to the forest was an absolute blast.

Your Majesty,
I hope this letter reaches you in good tidings, I have heard tell of the current tensions in the Wilds and I hope that the rumours are inflated for Harmony's sake. I write to you with tell of my latest adventure and a message of regards from someone I was told you have met in the past, a Seraph of Corellon called Will, whom I met fortuitously on my most recent adventure which was a very pleasant surprise after hearing of them through researching at the Daring Academy.
The adventure starts at Daring Heights as many do, I found a job on a notice board to assist with escorting young ones and a teacher to learn about nature. Naturally I did what any wise adventurer would do when their new job included protecting kids, I got a two or three dozen cupcakes from Paradise Frost. Now joining me on this adventure with the school cart was my buddy Thurghor, Lilith, Ronkk and a winter eladrin from the Winter Court called Arilian Evensong. He was a rather insufferable emmissary with one of his titles being familiar for some reason, the Mordent Shroud (I think that was the name) I remember my father covering a smile when talking about that title but I have no clue why. Anyway we were met by Eleanor Chase, her animal friends and her cart full of the children we would be escorting on an excursion to the Angelbark Forest. Eleanor knew how to get her horse, Binky, into a full gallop, while the children we completely fine my cupcakes nearly were taken but the speed but with my quick reflexes the cupcakes survived unscathed very luckily. We were on our way to the first stop, where we were to meet our guide for the day.
We arrived at a stone gate outcropping by the forest where Eleanor moved to a tree and seemed to commune with a being, to keep the kids in a more patient mood I geve them their cupcake, I also gave one to Eleanor, Lottie (Eleanor's hawk) and one to each of my fellow adventurers including Arilian despite his frequent propagandising and stereotyping of the fact that I am a Summer ealdrin born to a family of the Summer Court. It was as an olive branch to Arilian which he accepted and seemed to enjoy despite being hard to see through his constant resting glower. Little did I know that the guide was in fact Will who walked out of a tree in spectacular fashion. Now I believe there was an effect that tried to make us kneel before them, now I was unaffected unlike two of my compatriots but I chose to out of respect. Will spotted my amulet of Corellon, which I'm getting used to wearing openly and said some lovely words, I gave to them the last cupcake freely as thanks and out of respect. They did eat the dessert whole including the paper wrapping which I respect as it is such a great power move.
Anyway they gave the children a blessing of protection and told us we were going with the school cart to a beautiful tree that gave a bad unitchable itch feeling to Will when they were near it but needed to deal with a forest fire to the north of the forest. We were asked to assist while doing our protection duties. Arriving at the oak tree we were given a surprise gift which shrank us all except for Lottie the hawk who was flying around. Our first destination was to a rabbit burrow where we learned of another gift granted to us on this excursion. We could talk to animals as we met such polite rabbits called Twitch, Snuffle and Blink who warned us about the squirrels being weird and annoying, after that lovely chat Arilian accused me of poisoning the cupcakes with a hallucinagen as a prank I ignored him as it was clearly Will's Seraph or Forest Guardian powers that gave us this cool gift and I know the cupcakes were not drugged, I would not do that to people especially children, that's a not a prank it's just cruel to do that. I'd clearly have tied his shoelaces together while he wasn't looking or made it look like he was wearing Summer clothing, fun quick pranks with integrity. He and I did a true bardic duel, a duel of stories, it was close but I was found victorious as I regaled the cart with a story about why there is day and night, I even added the details of why the moon is around during day, because the moon feels lonely in the sky naturally. I never leave plot holes in my stories.
We began to climb using the magical school cart (which is giving me some playwriting inspiration, a play that makes education fun!) and saw some odd things like a pile of acorns in a pile after seeing a starving squirrel run past us down the tree. And the pile was far too large for one squirrel to consume, which was a weird sign, it looked like a tax or offering for a king or leader. As we moved up further, a group of bluejays had a polite conversation with us after we persuaded them we were in fact not worms. We learned about the squirrel's leader who was using fire magics, brace yourself for this one as I swear I would never lie to you not his name was Nutroaster, it felt right making that bigger considering how important that detail was, admittedly all of us chuckled not just the children. As we approached the lair of the feiry nut hoarder Thurghor created a beautiful obfiscating pink shaadow that hid all of us from the squirrel's flames.
Upon entering we snuck up and heard him roasting a starving squirrel with words, His arms were demony and I did a vibe check and he was on the way to a full demon conversion. I also saw with the vibe check that he had a whispery shadow demon next to him whispering not so sweet nothings. Thanks to the sneaking magics we were hard to find, I snuck around and used the orb I found in the Temple that I mentioned previously that could assist with bringing light to fight darkness as was in the pact from the firsttime we met, I thought it would just run away but no it poofed out of existence when I used the orb's natural daylight function.
Upon that Nutroaster, who wished to be a squirrel dragon looked at us all and we had a chat surprisingly. He wondered what the demon was naturally this was a fun opportunity, he was told that the demon was a demon of the flatulent variety and he'd been talking smack about Roasty behind his back. Also this squirrel was huge so we told him thaat the reason the demon wanted him to consume all the acorns was to turn him into a demon and that eating too many acorns gave him acornose intolerance and it empowered the demon. We told him that now was the chance for his heroic king redemption arc and that with Will's help he could cure his demonicness and maybe become cooler than a squirrel dragon which we persuaded him was a squirrel angel. I will say Arilian surprised me and actually seemed to have fun as we vibed off each other, it was three bards working as one and super cool druids he believed us completely. It does help that Arilian and I made two illusions creating the stereo sound of a choir playing while the daylight was glowing thematically.
The children were watching at a safe distance with Binky and Eleanor protecting them in case things went sideways, naturally this was the coolest thing they've ever seen and it's safe to say they will have a great story to tell their friends, Will took charge and is looking after Terry, the squirrel king formerly known as Nutroaster, and gave us some rewards for our work. A druid cloak, some agates and two healing potions. I only took an agate, I hope this story has been enjoyable as it was to me. I will say after the job's end Arilian and I seem to have come to a potential tenuous friendship despite his cold exteroir and slanderous claims we did get along at times and he wanted some of the cakes afterwards, he may have liked the idea of them having certain medicinal traits but I doubt it. I think even this small moment could help with the tensions and bringing Harmony to an often discordant land.
May the Song carry across the winds and may your days be filled with joy. If you require assistance with anything I am but a letter away.
With the Grace of Harmony's Light,
Yinmaris Iathrana
