The following report is written in a mix of common, symbols, elvish, infernal, goblin and draconic, and is kept secured in an Infernal Puzzle Box.
ASSIGNMENT REPORT #46
People of the Dawnlands: Oziah Daybreaker – divine warrior, aasimar (fallen), female; mount; Deimos (skeletal, fiend) Zola Oussviir – divine warrior/verse-maker, half-drow, female; Cor’Vandor (winged-stag, fey) Laurel Shortstride – nature cleric/mage, halfling, non-binary; pet goat, Poppy Kavel ‘Smashy Hands’ Castiron – barbarian, goliath, male Aurelia Archelson – aasimar, mage/Councilwoman of Daring Heights, female
The Notice: None. Recruitment done by Oziah after receiving a sending from Archelson.
The Job: I must give thanks to the foolishness and folly of the rich and ignorant. Lady Jemima Billowing, of the Billowing Cloak fortune, thought it would be as easy as a teleportation spell to move her whole castle to the Dawnlands when in actuality, the magic morphed and altered a dangerous creature to the point of near deadliness.
Purple worms are not easy foes for a mediocre killer. Yet when they gain the ability to hope across planes — from Ethereal to Material, specifically — then you’d best be able to dance and dance quickly.
All but yours truly got swallowed by these creatures at one point — which would be a point of pride for anyone. Except for when it came to extracting my allies required getting neck deep in purple worm guts.
Still, it is worth being covered in worm guts if Daybeaker gets the castle she has been wanting since forever. There’s a lot of work to be done, a whole inner keep to rebuild, but it will be ours and ours alone.
