Sparks-In-Shade sits quietly in the rafters of La Cachette Corvidae strumming a scuffed old mandolin. Any real musician would immediately identify that the instrument is out of tune, and that several of its frets buzz horribly when he plays a note. Even so, his singing is eerily pitch-perfect if rather unexpressive: a mixed blessing from his peoples’ gift for mimicry.
