The party made a deal with a representative of the Bear King - one of the lords of the Feywild - last session to help clear out Daring Heights and free the prisoners. Mostly paying money to the Bear King, but also putting 3 stones around DH to change the light from the beacon in the Feywild

During this gap year, Tugark spent much of his time exploring the coastline. You see, before he came to Daring Heights, he was left-for-dead, marooned by his shipmates of a pirate ship called the Orca. They'd been on a long campaign to find some fabled treasure, but the maps and information they were working off wasn't matching up to anything on the Faerunian coastline. Before being marooned, Tugark stole some the key part of the map, bringing it with him to Kantas. This map was left behind in the Tomb of Horrors south east of Kundar, and so Tugark not wanting to give up, has spent some time working from memory and trying to explore as much as possible to see if this island is where the fabled treasure lies... This is what he has found, with only brief contact with the bearkin, ratfolk, and minotaurs as Tugark focused on getting a lay of the land/sea. There is plenty to explore further! The ratfolk are up against a rather formidable band of gobliniods - Nothing so insurmountable as the orcish horde we faced, as they tell us. There's a storm giant who's daughter has gone missing too, he was the reason Port Ffirst was having trouble launching the Daring Dart for so long. We agreed to help him, but that seems to have fallen by the wayside! The ratfolk outpost is on a volcanic island, on top of an ancient dwarven forge, a history of Fire Giant invasion was evident. Important to note that the Minotarurs heavily police the sea to the south - there is a kind of passport that we can arrange with them for 10,000 gp to access the south sea and further coastline to the east. They're also actively at war with Fire Giants. Because, why not? Right? So there's that to be aware of. That fallen city? Well that's part of a no-go zone according to the Bear King. I wonder what's out there?!

Alisha's Account: Alisha was not on the battlefield when the Orcs came. Nor was she on the walls of Daring. She was not missed, as few, save those on the Daring Dart had met the determined she-elf. Since the Dart had returned to Port Ffirst, Alisha had remained in Port Ffirst. The hamlet was an easier pill to swallow than the dense and cramped pit that was Daring Heights. She had stood with the citizens of Port Ffirst, ready to fight. She had seen the Orc Hordes before, when Graveth-Nor was defeated many years ago in Faerun. She was fully aware of the horrors their kind would wreck on these people. Port Ffirst remained relatively untouched by the war band. When she heard of the decimation of Daring, she felt nothing. It is the way of life. If anything it would give the ground beneath a chance to breathe without the weight of the corruption those people had sowed. She spent much of her time continuing to explore the coastline of Kantas. Over the year she joined a number of small crews who made infrequent trips to the few islands and land marks they had discovered. Other ventures were spent alone, walking the coast. Several encounters with Goblins earned her a reputation as she repeatedly brought back ears and trophies. She built relations with the Boli and Grungs who inhabited the coastlines, often staying with them, of helping them with small jobs. Her personal project was the carving of a canoe from a large tree that she found south of Port First, dried up on a small sandy beach. It took her several weeks, but slowly she mastered the art, and was later seen on the waters in her beautiful creation. Still she saw the visions of the Giant Elk. The same visions that had lead her to the Daring Dart. As much as she continued to search and speak to all she met, Alisha is yet to find the elusive beast. She returns to Daring on occasion, when Port Ffirst are unable to fulfill the bounty of trophies she has accumulated on her latest venture into the wild. During Alisha travels along the coast line from port Ffirst: in the early autumn you were heading north past the Ratfolk port of Manus refuge with the crew from the daring dart, coming from the North was a large galley ship which once close enough you noticed the Elk figure head at the prow of the ship, you suddenly realise that this ship is what you have been seeing in your visions. The two ships draw closer together and you see that Bearfolk and Eladrin are working the ship, An elderly Eladrin has locked his gaze with yours, he seems familiar but you have never met him. He telepathically sends you the message "hello, my name is Alilinith and i am your grand father"

through out the gap year some of you may have travelled to the North west port of Neuyeya, This is the home of the bearfolk and their magic using allies the Eladrin.
Mountains on one, side snow on the floor, a very tall and broad treed forest in front of the port and to the south, the area is rocky and hilly, you don’t notice it at first but there are large tree houses high up in the trees some have bridges connecting to other trees. Amongst the rocks you notice signs of caves.
In the centre of the forest is a might Kantas oak tree which stands over 200” tall and the same in diameter, the roots are very much visible above ground and in places make large storage areas in its hollows, some have even been turned into dwellings which hint at much further dwellings below. The mighty Kantas oak is where many of the cities decisions, laws and trade are made in the great halls on the oaks wide branches.
The Bearkin where at war with the Kundarians a few years ago but are now at a truce which seems to be holding. the Bearfolk seem dismayed that we are also allied with the Kundarians
The alliance between the darings and the bearfolk/Eladrin is also aided by the fact that one of the Daring’s elf folk is related to one of the Eladrin elders.

Daisy tries to help out rebuilding in Daring for a while but can't help but feel drawn towards the North. In the woods where she runs with the wolves, she feels her druidic force flourish. Sometimes she is welcomed by the were-tribe for a feast and has long conversations with Gen’stel, the old and wise were-panther, hoping for answers she seeks but never finds. The were-panther has lived through many things, but he does not know everything. Daisy needs to connect with her druidic roots deeply, so she reaches out to the druidic circle in the Great Northern Forest, which she heard animals whisper about.
She spends a year there as a student and becomes a disciple under the mentorship of guardian spirits of the Forest. One of them, a dryad called Rowan has a special impact on Daisy's druidcraft. She mentions him often to her friends when she returns to Daring Heights.
In her time with the druids, she learns that they guard the nature balance in the forest by traveling between the mighty oaks, which they speak to and fuel their forces from. Daisy masters these oak rituals and learns to speak Sylvan from the dryads.
During the time she spends riding in the forest, she encounters some Bearfolk from the town up North and their cousins from the Feywild. She remembers many of them as their bear teeth and claws tore some orcs together in the battle of Reclaiming of Daring Heights. One of them she recognised to be Alyssa, an apprentice of the Bear King of the Feywild. She comes across grumpy at first (she is bear kin after all), but after a while Daisy, being insightful and kind, finds a way to discover Alyssa's sensitive side, hidden from the rest. They become close personal friends and Alyssa introduces Daisy to the ways of the Bearfolk.
They spend a lot of time in the Neuyeya, the port town in the North where a lot of Bearfolk live (Matt’s post above), and Alyssa even takes Daisy once to the Bjeornhiem, distant and craggy home of the Bear King, a long way North and mostly located in the Feywild.
When Daisy returns to Daring Heights, with her druidic roots stengthened and with all she learned about the Bearfolk, she knows exactly what needs to be guarded – peace. Enemies to the east, enemies to the west… She makes her way to the council hall…

The five stages of grief: Demik's gap year
1. Denial It had been several weeks since Demik set foot in Daring Heights. His scholarly pursuits had taken him into a series of wandering errands, looking for ancient ruins described in several old documents. However, none of these endeavors were successful. "Were they wrong? They couldn't be... Maybe I didn't get the translation right, I'm sure those ruins are real. They have to be hidden somewhere in Kantas." he pondered, as he walked absentminded through the town's gate. "Strange... When did the hinges came out of the front gate?" Demik snapped back to reality and gazed upon the debris and smoke around him. "No, this can't be real! It must be the effect of those mushrooms I've been studying."
2. Anger "Wait! I've taken them 12 hours ago, the effects only last 3 hours...", the colour drained from his face. "THE LIBRARY!!!" Demik ran with all the grace and speed of a flailing horse towards the library, only to find it reduced to a pile of ruble and the books scattered around him with several pages ripped. The sight was to much to bear, dropping to his knees, he grabbed two handfuls of thorn pages and shouted several curses at the Gods, blaming them for sabotaging his work once again. This probably worsened his already precarious position with most deities.
3. Bargaining "Maybe the damage isn't that bad. Maybe the books in the Necromancy section were saved. Please let those be safe!" Demik walked over to the Necromancy section, only to find it as damaged as the rest of the library.
4. Depression Curling into fetal position, Demik sobbed for several hours. Only to get up once rain started to fall, and he started to collect as many books as possible, protecting them from the rain.
5. Acceptance During the next year, Demik spoke with Nowhere, volunteering to help restore the library to its original form. Since physical labour is not his strong suit, Demik applied his scholarly knowledge to restore the books, spending countless hours reading and gluing pages back together. The library never got rebuilt, but that didn't stop him. Despite the tragedy, he did spend a tremendous amount of time studying those books and gaining a vast amount of knowledge. After a year has passed, he is now more determined than ever to put that knowledge to good use.
With the destruction of the library, Demik is now in possession of a large quantity of books, still wondering what he can do to make them reach the habitants of Kantas.

(Possible new rumour, up to you?) Khalaboosch the high librarian of Kudar has heard your sob and frustrations and has sent you an offer; he can offer you books regarding Kantas and other knowledge that you seek but you would need to do a favour for me first, gather some of your lawful adventuring friends and come and see me at the Kundar grand library

If there's anyone with enough expertise on how to make books available to the interested public, it would be Khalaboosch. Let's do this!
