One day, as Lolli is puzzling over a particularly problematic pattern, a letter from her home village of Fluffleton is surprisingly and unexpectedly delivered to her.
Anticipating it being a reply to one of her many letters to her family, she is surprised to see it is from Percy Hopscotch.
Her oldest friend and, well… Anyways. The letter!
Dear Lolli,
How’s it going? How are your studies? Created any amazing outfits recently?
I still have that amazing bowtie you made me for my birthday, in secret. Haven’t worn it yet –– not because I don’t like it! I do! I really do! But it’s very YOU and, well…
You know what our families are like when it comes to each other.
Which is why I’m writing to you. Should have done so before now but things have been strange over here…
Remember that Golden Carrot your Pa found? It’s gone missing.
Now your family is accusing mine of stealing it.
I’m not saying one of my brothers wouldn’t have done so! You know what Charles is like.
But things are getting… heated. And there’s some strange rumours flying about too and-
Could you come? I need your help to solve this dispute, once and for all.
