A damp, torn piece of parchment is delivered to Jaezred's door. The scrawly-written note reads:
"I can offer your lordship 700 gp for the longbow you have got."
The brief letter is not signed but with a crude doodle of a black corvid.

A carefully folded swan made of eggshell blue paper stands outside His Lordship’s door.
once unfolded it reads simply:
‘1000gp for the bow?’
As Jaezred looks up he sees the small form of Redacted peering around a corner making sure the note has been received. A small nod as their eyes meet and Redacted floats back downstairs and off on her errands.

Thank you for sending me your bid. Unfortunately, someone has offered a much larger amount for the longbow than you did, so I'm afraid I cannot sell it to you. However, I must applaud your enthusiasm for murder at such a young age — keep building your wealth and don't give up, and in time I'm sure you'll find the right magic weapon for you.

Soemtime this week, when [Redacted] is on her way to her next errand in Daring Heights, she turns a corner to see Lord Jaezred, sitting on a chair by the backdoor of an abandoned building and grinning at her, the magic longbow laid across his lap. "Hello there, colleague. Apologies, I hope I didn't catch you by surprise," he says. "I just wanted to tell you that you won the auction for the longbow. Congratulations! It's yours for a thousand gold." [Sold to Redacted for 1000 gp!] |
