Lately Taffeta has been letting people know that her husband Nerry is setting up business making and selling hearty and wholesome meat and vegetable pies, sausage rolls, and other assorted savoury pastries. The meat is all fresh and locally sourced (i.e. Taffeta and Aila catch it in the woods) and the vegetables mostly come from the family garden. At this stage Nerry can't afford a permanent shop so sales are made at market on market days and people wishing to buy at other times are welcome to drop by at the family home at any reasonable business hour.
(The pies are not magic and at this stage the business has no real game-mechanical benefit to anyone except me, in that it means I no longer have to remember to deduct 1gp per day to maintain Taffeta's modest lifestyle. But depending on what spells Taffeta gets at future levels, or perhaps with some kind of arrangement with Barden's garden for a supply of magic herbs, maybe in due course Nerry can start selling pies that give heals or buffs... We'll see what happens.)

Always shop local! *Lachlan surreptitiously kicks the 1,000 Tes'co carrier bags back under his bed* Do you have a menu of current wares and prices?
I like the sound of your future produce: I'll keep a special eye out for any health-based items. HPies, if you will.....

(I tried to make the prices plausible in light of the guideline prices for food and drink in the 'expenses' section of the PHB but they're quite vague (how much cheese is a 'hunk'?) so if anyone thinks these should be adjusted, let me know!)

1 of Taffeta's Special please. Full pie. I have a big appetite. Nerry looks up at the lofty half-orc and exclaims, 'Ah, an excellent choice, friend! Today the special is pheasant and mushroom with thyme.' He fetches the large pie and reaches up to bring it somewhere near the level of Tugark's hands. 'That will be three silver, if you please. And do come again!'

On 17 Flamerule 1496, customers found Nerry's shop closed without warning or explanation. This was unusual but not totally unheard of; but the shop remained closed and dark for the next two days as well. And then those few who came back on the morning of 20 Flamerule found a sign on the door in Nerry's hand, reading: Sorry, I have had to close the shop.I hope I shall be back soon. No one in Daring Heights can recall seeing Nerry – or any of his family, for that matter – since then.

Around the middle of the month of Ches 1497 the people of Daring Heights noticed that, without fanfare but with a decidedly pleasant aroma, Nerry's shop had re-opened.
