[DTA 11/12/22] Flat in the Forge/Sparky in the Training Yard

After an exciting day at New Hillborrow's Winter Fair, Anåbæl returns to FE for more manual labour in the forge, which feels (unusually for her) very heavy going ...
Her recent lack of Adventuring and multiple losses in the ring, have left Anåbæl unusually listless in the forge. She does enough to get by, but not much more (1+11!), earning enough to cover her modest lifestyle. At least she manages to summon up enough focus to avoid causing any accidents!
Keeping a wary eye out for Valorie Bright and Humphrey, Anåbæl heads to Fort Ettin's training yard, hoping to shake herself out of a rather soulless few days in the forge. She hopes to finally to turn her luck around in the training yard - with another light slot of pit fighting there.
Her Opponent: Susan Goldstone.
A goliath woman with the arms of tree trunks and a heart of gold. She's here to fight off her battle nerves and hopefully have some fun doing so.
The Outcome: A Narrow (and very honourable) Defeat
Although Anåbæl would have liked to have beaten Susan, she felt like they were both able to give the crowd some good entertainment. Muscles warmed up in the forge (and far from worn out!), Anåbæl initially was able to force back her opponent with an overwhelming barrage of strikes. To Susan's credit, she kept her head and fought smartly, avoiding the worst of the blows, and allowing her to fractionally outlast Ana in an otherwise long and very even fight.
Anåbæl leaves contentedly with 11GP in her pocket, wondering if she might have found herself a potential new friend - in this acrobatic and very cordial opponent.
