Kavel and Mendal set up a little stand in the Dawn market with the adamantine plate layed out on a table.Mendal: "I'll neatly remove the poncy chandelier if you'd prefer? It'll be seamless, unlike how the big lug would do it. That is, unless you like it, in which case, each to their own."

“Kavel… I’d gladly take that off your hands. I can trade in my adamantine splint and 1,500 gold on top, or just money if you prefer? Highest I can go is 2,300 gold.”

Mendal got Kavel to lean over and then he whispered into Kavel's ear.
"Okay. Yeah. I'll tell her. Thanks," Kavel said to his smith Clan Crafter friend, before addressing Zola.
"Zola. Mendal says 2,300gp is too much. He said it's about 2,100gp, but if he was selling it he'd sell it at 2,110gp for marketing reasons. You are my friend, so you can have a 5% discount. Let's call it 2,000gp. This would mean 400gp each for the people I'm selling it on behalf of. Not bad. Can't give you bigger discount though, again it doesn't only belong to me."
"And I'll remove the pointless chandelier, if you'd like - free of charge," Mendal added.

I’ll take that 2,000 price tag, but I insist on giving my adamantine splint to your friend Master Mendal here.” She gestures at the dwarven craftsman (wearing splint himself I believe?). “Just so it can have a new home. I trust Master Mendal will take good care of it. And yes, no chandelier, please…” When she gets a closer look at the black adamantine, she raises her one good brow. “Wait. I’ve seen this suit of armour before. At the grim castle where Marto had his knight tournament. Von…Vald? I think? What happened to him?”

Mendal exclaimed for all of the Dawn Market to hear. "If you need anything forged lickety-split Zola, come see me! I'm the best metal artisan in Kantas." [Channel Divinity - Artisan's Blessing: hour long ritual, crafts a non-magical item (must have some metal) must be worth no more than 100gp]. (Also - Mendal is indeed wearing plate). "Kavel! Invite your most wonderful and generous from round for dinner at once!" Mendal extracts some precision tools from his tinkerer an smith tool sets and begins removing the ornamental chandelier from the back plate. (Sorry Willem!) "Yes, of course Mendal." Kavel replied. "And, yes, Zola, come for dinner! And yes, the former owner, Johannus Von Vald must be the person you are thinking of. We had to retrieve a hammer that didn't belong to him, and I believe we killed him. But, his corpse got pulled into a lake that was horrible to us, but not to him. So, I don't know if some magic has revived him? Someone was crying by the lake when we left though. So, maybe he is dead? The armour's yours though." "He was a real god bothering git from what I've heard. Fuck him! Armour will look much better on you!" Mendal chimed in, as he removed the last bolt that held the chandelier to the back plate.

"Well, he was quite rude from what I remember," Zola muses. "Thank you both! I'll certainly take be there for dinner." When the paladin puts on the plate armour, now sans a chandelier, she activates a magical brooch that transforms the armour's look — turning it from a grim black to sterling silver. [2,000 gp + adamantine splint traded for the adamantine plate!]

(Nice! Thanks Jaz. Mendal (and if Archie was there) would be very fascinated with this brooch)
