A date specific game as it's basically 'the game I'll run the week before the Orc Invasion'
It's a matter of days before the Orcs begin to swarm Daring Heights. What do you want to do?
Totally open game - reach out to an ally, go see the Siege Engineer, pop through the portal, run madly at the orcs whilst naked, go see Granny, sit around in the Gilded Mirror playing cards. I'd like to know what you want to do.

Would this be a session into which “Varis finds a mount” might fit? Possibly alongside a broader quest to seek allies? Regardless I’m up for this.

Yeah that could potentially be woven in.

"I would free those enslaved by Orcs, by the mother! Free them to fight their former captors by defending Daring!"

"...Unless securing the second portal is more in tune with the narrative arc of the orc invasion of course!"

Unfortunately Nowhere will be visiting another plane of existence during this time (one with sun, sea and alcohol), but he will see if he can leave Val a present that may help you all in his absence. Look at it like Nowhere's version of a Kinder Surprise.

Challenge their leader to a duel to end this before we come to battle?

I would lend my hand to any endeavour here.

"I would slaughter orcs gleefully. After all, "slaughter" is just "laughter" with an "s". AHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" [This is considered by dwarves to be one of the greatest jokes ever written. They will often punctuate a night's drinking, singing and smoking their pipes with each participant telling the joke over and over again. They never seem to tire of it and every dwarf will laugh as uproariously as when he or she first heard it, such is its comedic value to them]

andycd mattwilkin Is it worth making this week's session a battle planning/strategy meeting for the following week? Otherwise, it's gonna be NUTS!
