"To the Council of Daring Heights,
following the previously reported death of Senate Leader Earthhardle, the senate has come together and in an almost unanimous vote declared an election to be held, before disolving itself. This stunning display of bipartisanship is likely the last we will see and for the foreseeable future until the election concludes and a new senate is seated, leading presumably to a new political equilibrium. The outcome of this election concerns Daring Heights and the Dawnlands greatly: the reform faction known as the Purists favour engagement with the Dawnlands, our sacrifices during the Avernus Campaign not being forgotten; the conservative Optimates faction on the other hand is far more isolationist, and less minded to do us any favours.
With the election season beginning, a number of political rallies will be held all over the country, giving the local politicians the chance to make their case for the election. We have received an invitation from Senator Marius Warborn, leader of the Purist faction, for a group of Dawnland adventurers to attend one of his events as observers. This may be an opportunity, but I trust I do not have to remind the council that the current political situation is fraught.
PS: May I inquire about the status of my request for additional funds? In light of current events I expect to need the additional resources."
