Kantas Report (Delayed)
Objective:
Assist Veridian Pentaghast in transferring his father’s mind from an orb back into a physical human body.
Team:
Myself (accompanied by Peppy temp)
Veridian (accompanied by Paraselsus)
Laurel (accompanied by Poppy temp)
Delilah (accompanied by Beastie)
Jaezred (accompanied by Velve)
Oziah (accompanied by Deimos)
Details:
Team summoned by Veridian, the wizard had received news from archmage Aurelia that she had information that could assist him in returning his father to his original form.
Aurelia tells us of magical robes originally created by Yasha as a way to help achieve god-hood, these robes were designed to funnel high levels of magic from the surrounding area and are rumoured to be sealed in a demiplane only accessible by some very specific tuning forks.
Based on this information and our previous experience with a certain large magical containment cube in a sandy demiplane, the team deduced this location was likely the place.
Team teleported over, demiplane just as we last left it. Filled with sand and cats.
As Team now away from the material plane, Delilah was able to occupy a more solid body again, though temporarily. Oziah was very happy about this.
To break through magic barriers of cube team needed to blast it with powerful magics from multiple schools. This called for mostly Veridian’s, Laurel’s and Jaezred’s abilities.
Team successful in eliminating all barriers of the cube, infusing entire Team with temporary heightened magical abilities.
Inside the cube was many ancient structures in an enclosed space, crumbling from neglect, and more sand. At the end of the large room a sandstone sarcophagus with a woman carved on its lid. Likely candidate for the location of the robe, confirmed this was true after lid lifted off.
Robes were slate grey in colour, embroidered with magical thread to create shifting cosmic symbols. Veridian donned robes and instantly alerted the three guardians of this place to our presence, three new targets to eliminate:
*A Solar (it’s wings and body half aflame)
*An Abishai (fiend associated with Tiamat)
I focused my attentions on the Solar and it’s weak points with my bow, while Oziah focused hers and her sword upon the Abishai. Laurel assisted us all when anyone in Team close to going down, Delilah violent on light feet around the Avatar, and Jaezred and Veridian eventually tag teaming as dragons.
All three targets eliminated swiftly. Veridian could now channel the power of the robes into transferring his father from orb form to human form. Whole team assisted anyway we could to try and bring about a successful transfer.
Happy to report that it was indeed successful, but in using the robes as a foci the structure inside the cube began to fall apart as the magic contained was finally released back into the demiplane. Team evacuated with a singular cat holding some boots (Pallas cat in appearance, Maine Coon in size). Can report cat is happily roaming Daring Heights, and frequenting the Academy.
Conclusion:
Mission objective successful.
Veridian and his father are reunited properly, I’ve heard they’re going to open a potion shop together.
