It is a warm night. The moon bathes the Tritooth Wharf in hues of shimmering silver, dull grey and oily black, the waves lapping gently against the small rowing boat, rocking this way and that. A paddle lazily drifts away on the water. A wool hat bobbing on the surface, soaking full of blood and sea water until it becomes too heavy and slips silently beneath. A single air bubble floats to the surface, bursting, leaving no trace behind but the fast diluting pool of crimson. The waves continue to lap gently, as if nothing had happened at all.
Admiral Jarnos Saltborn of the Grey Zephyr Armada stands at the railing of his flagship, hands firmly clasped behind his back, looking out over the moon-swept sea. A sailor approaches, nervously clearing her throat. The admiral doesn't turn.
"Another one then?"
"Another one, sir."
The admiral sighs.
"Right. Send word to the usual haunts. Get me some adventurers."
"Yes sir. Anyone in particular? Special skills? Weapons?"
"Just make sure they are comfortable on the water."
