I, a human man of 58 years old, have been showing signs of my age for several years now. The visible grey in my brown locks and beard, but also the less visible signs to others, such as; the pain in my joints, my back, and how long I take to recover from injury. As the years of my life increase; the fortitude of my body decreases. As youth has departed from me; pain has filled the space it once occupied.
I am one of the senior scholars here, amongst the shorter-lived humanoids. I have amassed a lot of knowledge. However, I look at my elven colleagues and envy their long lives free from disease and seemingly any declining effect of age. They have years ahead of them to pursue their interests and gain further knowledge. Immediacy is only called for in matters of emergency for the Elves, and to a lesser, but equally large extent (from a human’s perspective) the Gnomes and Dwarves, too.
I have made little progress in what interests me the most - longevity for the shorter-lived humanoids. And whilst I look after my body well enough, I am keenly aware that I have fewer years ahead of me than I have in my past.
If I am to make a significant improvement in my research on a timeline that will benefit me, I must make a breakthrough soon, or find a new, more fruitful way of looking at the problem, or else; I will continue to travel the road us humans have laid out before us, the one that leads towards decrepitude of the body. And, if you're lucky your mental faculties will be functional enough for you to be fully aware of your decline as the years progress and rob you of your dignity.
I have decided to continue my research in Kantas, in the city of Daring Heights at the Daring Academy. It is reported that Kantas has unexplored secrets, and with luck, maybe one of them is the secret to human longevity.

Visually and in character Archie has changed a bit to be somewhat of a dandy. Prestidigitation can come in quite handy for a middle aged dandy whose hair is unseemingly going grey.
