Port Ffirst has a pretty goo neigh-bourhood
Lolli finishes her letter, seals it into an envelope and writes with her glitter ink the address to her parents.
Then she heads to the post office to post her letter.
Lolli then hops and skips the whole way back to Daring Heights, with another smile on her face thinking about the plans she has for next week.
Dear Mum & Dad,
I went swimming today. Well… I mean it was a different type of swimming. I probably won’t do it again. Well not unless more people needed help. See ok… so I was in the sewers. But before you say anything, it was for a good cause. There was this goopy monster that was all like raaawr and trying to eat people. I might be exaggerating but you get my point. At one stage it even tried to swallow me whole but I was all like bam bam kapow and it was all like gloop squelch plop potion smash. I then was like oh no you don’t. And then kapow I hit it with lightening and I exploded it… hurray!
I have gotten wildly off track. Also I think I might be still feeling the effects of the medicine Pipper gave me…
To give you both some context, basically I saw a note saying someone needed help in Port Ffirst with something in the sewers. I was like I am on it! I walked for a while and then when I got there I realised I had no clue where the opening to the sewers was. I had to ask so many people. Eventually I found my way there and what do you know I met some of my friends there already, Pipper, Amble and Beets! There was also a new people I hadn’t met, Leonida. She seemed a bit intense but also super cool.
We waited for AGES. It was very smelly so I kept using my magic to make the air spell nicer. I had to do that A LOT. Eventually this old sea half lady came out of the sewers. She said she needed help putting a stop to some magical creature that was growing extremely big and was potentially dangerous. Her name was Vitex. She monitors the sewers and needed help. She led the way. I didn’t want to get my dress like absolutely destroyed so Beets helped me tie up the bottom of my dress. You know it would be cool if I could make a dress that also turned in to pants. I mean it would be practical right? I might have to investigate again…. hmmm
Anyway, we were walking in the sewer and it was a super long walk so we started playing games. We did like eye spy and I made animal shapes in the water for people to guess. It was fun. Vitex gave some of us who can’t see well in the dark this glowy moss thing which was super amazing and very handy. She was really nice.
Oh and I learned a new spell recently called Mage Armour, which lets me put up a magical barrier to protect me from getting hurt. I made it look like your favourite biscuits dad, custard creams. My whole armour goes up and I look like a biscuit. See you don’t have to worry I know how to defend myself. I’ll show you next time I see you.
Anyhow, then we found this room and there was all this weird stuff. So I decided to look around and search for some animals, you know to see if they had any more information. I know a spell called Speak with Animals, let’s me you know… talk to animals. Anyway you would never believe what I actually found. You would have laughed so much Mum. I came across a group of badgers and raccoons, doing a play. They were all dressed up but I had clearly interrupted their performance. I said hello and I offered them some of my spare fabric in exchange for some information. They were so happy. They told me that there was a goopy monster and some other things. I relayed all this to the group. Everyone else did their own thing to find more information. While this was happening I warned Stiffy, Amble’s dog, to look out for goop.
We all gather as much info as we could and then took off. Vitex said she had a plan. That we would try to corner the creature. Our group was to go one way and then she would go another. It seemed like a good idea. However it meant I had to actually swim through the sewer to get out the other side. It was… emm… not exactly pleasant. But I made it. We all made it there and then boom out from the waters comes this massive glowy creature. It was like waaaay bigger than me. With bottles on its enormous googly eyes. That’s when the fight happened. Amble tried to reason first but it didn’t work. When that happened Beets of course went to attack, as she’s amazing. Leonida did the same, she seems like someone who knows how to use a sword. Pipper was amazing and hit it lots with her weapon arm and did lightening damage.
And I tried to use a spell to make it laugh. I thought maybe I could reason with it that way. But I couldn’t make it work. Then it tried to swallow me and Amble. And it did and we were both inside it. It smelt so bad. And it tried to attack me… lots. It was... sore. And that’s when I was like kapow and pew pew pew again with my spells. Eventually I managed to hit it 'just' right and it completely exploded the creature.
I cleaned myself up and helped my friends as well. Pipper rushed over to me and did a healing spell. Immediately after doing that spell, she was just so exhausted she fell into the water. Of course I tried to help her back up. Anyway she was ok in the end, don't worry. So was everyone else. We survived the creature and Vitex gave us some super cool things in the end.
So overall a fun productive day out.
