[Pre-Amble ... the ups and downs of a nascent adventurer]
The pen is less mighty than the pickpocket:
On a high after another thrilling adventure [#4] in Gadenthor, Amble seeks to solicit a simpler, quieter and less adrenaline-fuelled but of downtime.
He spends a large amount of time in solitary study, reflecting on the last adventure, and writing down spells to still his mind. Within a few days, he had two perfectly good spell scrolls, and is soon on his way to sell them, and looking to turn a modest but reliable profit.
However, as he hands the first scroll across the table, and feels in his pocket for the second, he realises that the other one isn't there! It has been stolen! There is a thief inside Fort Ettin...
Two day's hard graft, and nothing to show for it, with all potential profits blown away in the winds of fate.
Amble silently reflects that there isn't much money in scroll scribing, and that he should give tutoring more consideration again, once back in town.
Unless, perhaps, he manages to find that thief?
[Potential hook?]
