Silvia returns from her discussions with her new friends. Pondering the meaning of her connection to Kurtz. As she enters her room, she sees on her bed a piece of folded parchment. The room is empty, nothing has moved, but there lies a small note in an elegant script:
'Silvia
I have found safety but it won't last long. I'll be at the Gilded Mirror for the next two days if you want to see me.
