Fresh off the back of his first successful "official" adventure in Kantas, Amble thought that he would try to earn some coin in Daring Heights as he had elsewhere on his travels: by offering his services as a tutor, and master of much knowledge historical, religious, and magical.
Unfortunately, in his first week Amble soon learns that persuading any of the locals to stop and listen long enough to a strange young gnome in this big city is going to be a lot harder than he had bargained for...
Unfortunately, Amble wasnt hugely successful this time, though an aspiring show magician eventually pays him to teach them some tricks.
Luckily, nothing went wrong, and Amble is paid enough to cover a poor lifestyle for the week.
He briefly feels a bit dirty for debasing himself and his knowledge in that manner, before accepting a more philosophical perspective - having vicariously spread a little knowledge broadly via a street entertainer, rather than greater knowledge more narrowly and more deeply by tutoring as usual.
His normally beaming optimism, is briefly dented, but he bounces back with a spring in his step, anticipating better times ahead.

Having learned from his less successful first week at tutoring, Amble goes to a nice part of town, and uses some classy cantrips to help to drum up some interest, as well as to prove his wizardly credentials...
Prestidigitation for various dramatic effects, levitating his thick Book of Lore above him with mage hand, and minor illusion to make a quality floating sign to describe his services.
His new approach brings some better luck archive time around, and taking on a handful of students in a somewhat haphazard fashion allows Amble to cover his modest living expenses for the week.

[Backdated post 07/02/22] #Gadenthor #Harnash
Amble forsook adventuring for a week to double down on finding and fulfilling suitable tutoring opportunities again (light slot), and to see what additional research he could dig up on Harnash / Gadenthor in the Academy, using his researcher background, Book of Lore, and skills (light slot).
Drumming up ad-hoc tutoring was surprisingly successful, helping Amble to sustain a moderate lifestyle for the week without any complications.
His investigation and research into Harnash and Gadenthor is also very successful**. Speaking to other adventurers in DH, he uses his scholarly background to help cross-reference information in DA with his Book of Lore, as well as the information gleaned from an informative discussion with the very helpful chance conversation* with a strange looking Drow woman called Zola [Jaz] - who shares a little about Harnash and their batter-based economy.

**By asking around Amble finds out out a few things (25). First, Gadenthor was obviously not built by the people of Harnash - some of their top level leadership live there but a huge amount of the city is still burried and unexplored by them. Secondly, the Empire of Netheril who did build Gadenthor were a society of mages more powerful than any before or since - they developed many great works of magic that are far beyond modern practitioners, and used them in every aspect of their daily lives. Finally, much of their genius was technical as well as arcane - they used machines powered by magic extensively, even developing powerful "arcan batteries" called Mythellars to power their creations.

Fresh off his exciting adventure [#2] in Gadenthor, Amble has another crack at tutoring in DH before travelling on to Fort Ettin to continue adventuring anew.
His previous attempts at tutoring help to provide the experience and inspiration needed to be substantially more successful... his fortunes continue to improve (with practice), earning enough to cover his modest expenses for a week in DH twice over*!
*[Errata - now realise that this shouldn't have been possible as can only earn additional money vs living costs with a roll of 21+ through Work DT, but narratively it fit well!]

[Backdated post 15/02/22] #Enchantment #FeatherFall #GettingHighWithAmble
The adventure [#3] with the Bear's Proxymouse hunting competition in Neuyeya took up several days.
Amble happily whiled away the rest of the week with his druid friends in the woods*, before heading back to FE.
* [RP - 15/02/22] "Unionized Druids of the Dawnlands" ...
Amble was very much on board with Florian's invitation to come hang in the Feythorn, quietly wishing he was as cool as real "full" druids... All the same, he sets to work a will, and with positive energy is soon busily communicating with small animals, and carrying out smaller scale acts of pyromania* like the big druids do, as well as encouraging some of the druids to jump out of tall trees with him, when a little bit tipsy on "all you can drink" dwarven ale*.
Amble wanted to talk ethics/philosophy too ... he is conflicted about pursuing the family line of Enchantment magic, having seen it being misused...
Laurel [Annie] also joined the discussion. They take a general stance of “while some always look for the evil in things, I believe there is always good to be found” aiming to be reassuring that enchantment can be used positively as long as the intent is matched carefully
Amble was very grateful, and somewhat reassured. He also offered his services (should they meet again), if Laurel should ever need help with scholarly research of any kind, spell scrolls, or if Laurel fancies jumping off tall things with featherfall just for the fun of it*!
