Friends and colleagues, adventurers of Daring Heights.
Some of you may have seen or heard rumours of a young woman walking around town asking after a tiefling. Some of you may even be concerned for our demon blooded friends.
Fear not.
The young woman in question was an undead hunting friend asking for help with a nest of necromancers and ghouls. Someone who was taking care not to be noticed too much so I shan’t tell her name here.
She had spoken with many in town and at the port a few miles out of town. Following her somewhat cryptic clues, we headed for the port, camping overnight on the road we heard wolves moving around us, the may be getting bolder, a thing to watch for friends. After speaking with a captain of a fine vessel at the port. we headed to an island a few miles northwest of Port Ffirst. Again the creatures of the area seemed to give a foreboding warning, and a great shape shadowed our boat for some time before moving away. Upon reaching the island, said to be haunted by the sailors on the vessel, we found the young woman.
She, using her contacts had discovered a ghoul nest on the island, the tiefling, a captain of the guard a half orc berserk, a human mage new to Daring, and I, helped the young hunter defeat the ghouls and explore the caves.
Within the caves we found, with little explanation, a small host of people frozen in ice. Mostly these people seemed to be workers and possibly sailors, not the sort of people to willingly wander into an undead infested hole.
In a less natural part of the cavern complex we came across an illusion left behind, seemingly by a gnomeish necromancer, possibly trying to attain lichdom. This gnome appears to have been experimenting with the ghouls creating bigger and nastier versions of the monstrosities.
With the cave cleared and the gnome fled, we parted ways with the young woman and returned to Daring.
This gnome intrigues and worries me friends, and I would appreciate any information uncovered as to his whereabouts and motives.
