My latest adventure was a tale of friendship between Pixy and Apricot. Or a tale of nonfriendship?
It's a short story. I, among other friend that I have met in my previous adventures, were called by someone in need. Called... only I can describe it. The person in question decided it would be a great idea to have a cry for help being sent on repeat, along with a chime of bells, straight into your skull. Although it may seem may seem nice to listen to said bell chime, it start getting irritating after have it. in may head. nonstop. for almost HALF A DAY! After our mission, I made sure inform the culprit, by the name of Pixy, that this isn't the best way of asking for help and that next time she should try either the adventure board or run straight to the City Watch HQ. But alas, it did the job and I was along side Ivan, Celina, Igrainne, Anwyn and Cam.
Pixy told us that she invited over her friend, by the name of Apricot, for a Midwinter party but they didn't show up. Pixy told us that they were not the type that would just vanish and she was seriously worried that something bad may have happened. She offered to teleport us straight at their location so that we can get to the bottom of this.
Long story short, we arrive at the Apricot's house, discover a trap door under the rug (how original) which turns out to be a portal, we go through a room that appeared to be a challenge of bravery. It was a pond that we had to let it flood for long enough so that we can access out way out, but not for too long so that we end up drowning. After completing this challenge, we end up in another one, in which we had to use our combined efforts to break the seals that prevented us from moving forward. It required coordination between two people, three times. The third and final challenge was one a will: it was a roomed filled with treasure. It was a room filled with whatever the heart desired. My 'bs radar' told me that this is a trap and that we should proceed forward. Ivan, Anwyn and Cam followed my example, Igrainne and Celina however, did not. I ran towards Igrainne since she was the furthest away and I acted first, hoping that my allies can deal with Celina. My curiosity got the better of me. I wanted to see what was Celina's deepest desire, so I took peek when passing by her. What was Celina's deepest desire one might ask?
Apples
Celina's deepest desire... was apples. Yes, they were really exotic apples... but seriously...
Apples...
With our comrades dragged out, and Celina almost beating Ivan and Anwyn. We find ourselves on the other side of the door and into what we did not expect. We stepped in the middle of a party and at this point we seemed to be in the fey wild. And there, in middle, was Pixy's lost "friend", Apricot. Sadly, we learned that Apricot ditched on Pixy since they thought that her party would be boring and not as fancy as this one. Upon hearing this and the tone of Apricot's voice, Ivan became furious, but with Igrainne and myself calmly explaining to them that their action was shameful, we gave them an option: either they come with us and apologize to Pixy, of they can stay here and enjoy their party while we tell Pixy the truth and break her heart in this moment of closure. They decided to come with us.
Back at Pixy, I contemplated whether we should tell the truth and risk hurting her, or lie so that she wouldn't feel like she was being pushed away. Apricot decided to tell the truth about what happened and apologize for their behavior. Upon seeing the saddened expression on Pixy's eyes I felt bad. I knew the truth hurts. But then her bleak expression was thrown aside and gave way to of delight as she invited all of us to stay and enjoy her party and we all agreed.
During our stay at Pixy's lovely tent, it hit me. It's only half a year being on this continent, and it's not as if I haven't been away for long stretches of time, heck I haven't been there in years. But somehow, maybe due to the warmth in Pixy's eyes being surrounded by people who are here just for company, or maybe the distance being greater now, but it's only now that it shows up, after a half-year build-up.
This feeling of homesick.
It is also that time.
The time I write the letter.

Happy New Year!
And many happy new investigations... and old ones.
Started the year strong with a visit to Drover's Yard to get more information on Hecate's transport routes and to see what has been logged. The idea was to see if I can spot anything that may be another lead. I could have also went to OMTC management and see what they have to say about having subcontracted a kidnapping hell hag, but I decided to do some digging myself first. Higher management tends to start doing some "cleaning" once they realize they are under an investigation and possible incriminatory evidence may be found. Drover's Yard seems like a great place to start.
Of course, I didn't just walk in and asked for Hecate's logs. Well, I did, but also I didn't. While I admit this wizard spellbook I bought may be small and only have basic spells, they are quite useful if you're smart. A little something called 'Disguise Self' will help in this endeavor. Going in as Derthaad of the City Watch not only will send the "cleaning" signal to those higher, but it may also mark me as someone unsavory by those in OMTC during future researches on this matter and thus being denied of access or information. This little spell will help me get a head start. As a little note, it's best to keep your physical structure and only change appearance, it help in case you accidentally bump into someone. It will sure to cause confusion if you're expecting to bump into an elf but get rammed over by a tall dragonborn. A change of clothes is also in order in case you're wearing a descriptive set.
Upon arriving at Drover's Yard, I went straight to what seemed to be a reception area. I apologized and asked if I could have a look at Hecate's transport logs. The person behind the counter was at first confused and reluctant, until I kindly asked to reconsider. A "small" bag should help. Funnily enough the person nonchalantly picked the bagged and was kind enough to share some details regarding Hecate's jobs as she was searching through the logs. Hecate's route was consistent, no deviations, but what stood out was that the stone that Hecate was transporting back came from different parts of the quarry. Not once from a previous location. And also, only once was there was an attack on the caravan that draw the attention of OMTC proper, but they brushed it off as "natural occurring" and thus the loss was not recorded due to it being in a small percentage. I tried to get more details regarding the load capacity of the carts upon arrival so that I can compare it to what is written upon leaving the quarry, but the person behind the counter was begin called to another part of the yard. Before she left, I made that this discussion never happened by offering her another "small" bag. And also, as a thank you for her kind cooperation.
I need to send another letter to Tim and see if he can find out what has happened at the quarry and why did the hags never go back to any of the previous spots.

Greetings Tim,
Apologies for another letter so soon, but I have another request from you. I did some more digging into this hag situation. The records show her route has been the same throughout her time at Drover's Yard, but she somehow always kept bringing stone from all over the quarry, never taking stone from the same spot. I also found out that there was only one attack that draw the attention of OMTC but the loss was too small to be taken as anything seriously.
My request, is that if you can get some information from within the quarry as to why Hecate never went to the same spot. This findings may be too small for anything conclusive, but to fair, the higher-ups are planning on letting her go due to the lack evidence, so anything that incriminates Hecate will indeed prove useful.
Regards,
Derthaad
