Week 35, 1498
19th of Nightal
Have to say, this past 2 weeks have been interesting and fruitful. First of all, first week of Nightal concluded 2 of my investigation: Jack is now deceased, along with his partner, a human by the name of Langston; and the Shafowfel portal found in Angelbark forest may be linked to these two. Jack and Langston apparently tried to 'become gods' by means of Sigil and the Queen of Pain? Their means of achieving godhood is still slightly confusing to me mostly due to the fact that a lot of the details are still new to me. This Jack'ston issue has been going on long before I arrived in Kantas and clearly more experienced adventurers have been on this case for way longer than I. To access Sigil, they used a set of 3 complex machineries, 2 of which were located in Angelbark forest (at a location that seemed different than the Yuan-ti temple) and one in the Shadowfel. Whether or not the portal found in the yuan-ti temple was related to the Jack'ston situation I cannot say, but it may be so. Still, I will keep my eyes towards the forest in case it is not over.
Following that whole situation the Dawnlands took a bit of a breather from all the serious endeavors. But of course, people didn't take a breather from all the fun activities... and blowing stuff up.
Near Swamp Gate, a make-shift stadium appeared that housed the "Demolition Derby" show. This show actually became the primary topic of discussion within the CW, even more than the Jack'ston incident. Not in a good way, though. I was even able to hear Cpt. Thundercog from his office complaining about it. Called it a 'Disaster Derby', a 'nightmare to manage and organize'. He was right, though. Due to its make-shift nature, the show did seem like a nightmare to properly surveil and assign guards to proper positions. Not to mention that the escape routes for an eventual fire hazard were second to none. It was, in all essence, a disaster bound to happen. Luckily, only what was intended to be set ablaze was set ablaze.
The show was run by the eccentric Michelle Lacote. She was... let's say she has a knack for all the innuendos.
The party was comprised of various individuals that I have not met until now. Aside for Dwirhian, all of the others were new for me, some more experienced and others new. The most powerful among them was a human wizard named Veridian. Everything about him aired powerful magic. Don't believe I've seen him among the adventurers that went after Jack'ston and their machines. His aura seems to match that of Aurelia, so maybe he was among those who stood behind to regulate the surge of wild magic that was affecting the Dawnlands. The others were a drow ranger named Igrainner; Bones, someone who looked like the love child of a dragonborn and an aarakocra; judging by his abilities, I would say that he's a sorcerer of the draconic ancestry; and a fellow named Breeze with a rather interesting hairstyle; looked like one of those jellyfish that I saw in that runaway library once (fumps? flups?... flumps). Quite a colorful cast of characters, as always. It seems that Michelle has been expecting us. She told us that we were honored guests, VIPs even, but we were also planned to perform. Thus we were given a house... to blow up. Gotta say, blowing up a house was fairly entertaining and Veridian took care that the house was completely erased from existence by summoning a meteor that I still have no idea how it did not blow up the entire arena.
Before our performance, though, I was approached by the waiter. Or more like I followed the waiter that seemed a bit shifty. Turns out he was part of Tiny Tim's gang. Tim did indeed received my letter, but he and Stan were unable to come to DH due to increased activity by the cultists. They didn't get more aggressive towards Tim's gang, instead they stealing more and more of the sunset stone gathered from the quarry. I thanked him for the info.
I did some research afterwards in Daring Academy regarding the stone and the findings may the troublesome. I need to write to Tim.

Greetings Tim,
I have received your message regarding the sunset stone theft. I did some digging at Daring Academy's library and discovered that years ago the stone has been researched by an alchemist named Evira Tivior. Her trail lead SW from Galavir, which itself is approx. 35 miles SW from Stoneleaf Quarry. Although the records seem vague on this, I have my suspicion that the stone may be used to "amplify" something. What that may be, is still a mystery, her last recording was "I need to go brighter".
I understand that you and your men have taken a beating, but I have a request to you. I need to to send some of your men to tail the cultists and see where are they taking the stone. Judging by their increased activity and the findings, I have a suspicion that they might be building a temple, ritual site or maybe even a portal. Also, if intel gathering is an option, see if you can find anything on Glassya, princess of the nine hells, or Malbolge, her domain and also the hag's plane of origin.
Regards,
Derthaad.
