Silvia leant against the wall, thinking about the day before. It had started strangely and ended even stranger. She had gone to see Sorrel, it saddened her to see Sorrel in a cell but their conversation had instilled hope in her. That was rare these days. She had gone to see the fey dignitary with Sorrel. It was there she met up with the others; Jaezred, Sterling and Gerhard. 'His Lordship' was an interesting character, so interesting in fact that she had come to the Flourished Hook to see him, although she was still waiting for him to finally wake as expected. Sterling was a fun little chap, although too obsessed with machines and devices for her to properly be able to interact with him. And then there was Gerhard. He was a quiet man, but Silvia's conversation with him had been... Enlightening. She pondered as she stood there, just who exactly was that man through the portal, and where did it truly lead.. She knew she would have to speak to him again, perhaps next time their paths crossed. She remembered waiting outside the temple as the rest went in. She never used to care that much about religion but these days she was scared to enter, worried about what might happen should she try and step on holy ground. The library had been useful though, very useful. Her mind raced at what she had found in that book, what it might mean. It was there that Jaezred had first asked her about the imps. She looked up, they were still circling above her. She had never seen them distracted from their tormenting like she had in the library, it was almost as if, as if they were looking for something. They had perused the markets then, the others had gotten trinkets, weapons but she had stayed silent, she didn't need anything. And then there was the evening.
The moon had been beautiful and clear, even more so outside the walls of the city where the only light was from the moon itself. She had remembered the drow priest sitting down and playing the drums, although she remembered the melodies that seemed to float in on the wind too. She had not heard songs like that for so long, songs she used to dance to as a child, songs she locked arms with her friends to and danced in celebration of the harvests, life or a myriad of other small joys. She had closed her eyes and let the music taken her. How long had it been since she danced? Since she had twirled to the folk rhythms. She could almost feel the summer dress the old ladies had sown her twirling around her. She didn't remember how long it had been but she remembered Sorrel taking her hand. She had stopped dancing then, had listened with joy as Sorrel had told her she was free of the curse. They had danced after that, and Silvia was happy again. She caught herself smiling in the present and laughed out loud, startling the old woman sweeping the cobbles in front of her. Then she remembered the shadow. It had appeared as she waited outside the library. It was horned, winged, terrifying. She remembered the distant roar. What did it all mean? She would have to find out. But first a chat to the good Lord Jaezred and then, just maybe, she should go see Sorrel again...
