Greetings and salutations.
I am Kalik Arashi, Son of Storms.
If you do not know me, allow me a brief introduction. My father, Graden, was born a slave on the pirate coast. At sixteen, he lead a slave rebellion, by nineteen he commanded a fleet of nine ships crewed by the former slaves of a dozen pirate outfits, at the age of twenty one he was loved by the people of the sword coast, feared by the pirates that preyed upon them, and made their lords nervous. They had two options, destroy him, or elevate him.
At his knighting ceremony the new Baron Arashi met my mother Demara Illuen, Emissary of the elven realms, the two fell to passion, and then fell in love as Graden Arashi became Baron of the Bay of tempests, a harsh, windswept and storm wracked land with few inhabitants and fewer reasons to stay. There he built his home, turned his fleet into a trading empire and worked to make the land tillable.
The Baron of Tempests is my father; my older brother is commodore of the liberty fleet. My mother has the ear of the elvish kings and human Lordlings, and I? I seek to raise the Arashi name in the minds of the people, it is they who sweat and bleed for the land, it is they who work so the lords can rest, and it is they, as any wise ruler knows, holds the power.
Where better than this frontier to show the common man the worth of my family? Let the lords come and hear the name Arashi spoken on the lips of those here.
