Sometimes You Just Need To Stop Sharking Your Responsibilities And Just Get The Job Done

Celina wakes up in the Cavernous Sea Shank completely startled. She lifts her head from off the table and squints her eyes. It’s too early for her to be up at this time, but a noise had woken her. She looks around her and tried to piece things together. She spots Kelne also asleep head first on the table next to her. Celina remembers she went out drinking with her. Then realises they must have passed out at the table. Celina feels hungover, she’s exhausted but she looks around the room and her eyes land on her dancing rapier lodged into the wall just above the bar. She gets a flash back to the games her and Kelne got up to while they were drinking there last night. She recalls Kelne daring her that she couldn’t make the shot and Celina refusing to lose to a dare. Celina stares at her rapier now, wanting to get it but far too tired to move at the moment. She notes to herself she’ll get it later. She nudges Kelne to awake up. Celina looks around and notices there’s lots of people coming in early, however she spots Ivan immediately coming over to join her. As he is walking over, he sits down and offers to buy her a pint He does this while eating a lamb shank in one hand. Celina says sure but really can’t decide if drinking at 7am is a good idea. However before she knows it Jedd the Barman comes over and places a strong caffeine drink in front of Celina and Kelne. Celina sniffs it wondering if it’s alcohol related, but decides to not really question it and drinks it anyway, as does Kelne. As Celina is drinking her drink, she sees Toothy and Levuka come over to join their table as well. Celina smiles at the familiar faces. However she eyes up the weird frog in Toothy’s hands. She forgot he liked reptiles.
Before Celina can comment on the frog, suddenly there’s a sound of a young girl crying in the corner of the room. Toothy looks towards the girl, but turns to our group concerned and asks if she might like a frog? Celina advises that it might not be a good idea… at this hour. Kelne immediately peps up and goes over to the young woman to ask what the matter is. Then she beckons Celina over as well. Celina sighs not wanting to deal with crying people so early in the morning but heads over anyway. The young girl is modestly dressed and apologies for crying. After some questions from Kelne the girl eventually explains why she’s crying. Her lady, one of the town’s debutants is having her sixteenth birthday and left a bunch of ridiculous tasks for her to carry out which she’s completed. It’s clear this girl is overworked. There’s just one item on her lady’s list which she just can’t get and extremely worried she’s going to get fired from her job without it. It’s a snowdrop, which is incredibly rare and don’t grow around this time of year. The weather is currently too hot for them. There were rumours of them growing on an island of the coast, however it’s much too dangerous due to the strong waves. It’s also impossible for most people to get too. The area is covered in really thick and dense fog. While the girl is telling her story, Levuka and Ivan had made their way over to join the girl as well. However Toothy remained where he was but listens from where he is. The girl looks to our group and mentions she heard that some adventures might be able to help. That if anyone were to get a basket of snowdrops that her lady would pay and extremely large amount of gold for their return. Upon hearing gold, Celina immediately perks up and offers her services to get these flowers. Everyone else takes pity on this girl as well and agrees to help. She smiles, wipes her tears and thanks everyone profusely. She also says that if they could get back by lunchtime she’ll bring her lady back here and she’ll sort everything. She gives as much directions as she can and leaves the group to go on their way. The group pack up their things and they also all leave the bar. However Celina quickly runs back to grabs her rapier from above the bar before running back out to catch up with the others.
They all head towards the area they were advised to go and work out a way to cross the huge waves, which seem unnatural in this area. Ivan, Levuka, Kelna and Celina all hop on a raft and Ivan uses his strength to manoeuvre the raft through the water and waves. Toothy decides to walk through the water and shallow patches of land he can find. Suddenly there’s a huge wall of fog and Celina immediately sees something moving behind the fog. She points it out to the others and then it’s revealed that it’s a massive shark. Kelne jumps off the raft to hop onto of the shallow patches of land. The shark begins to attack Toothy who’s still walking through the water. Toothy starts taking some swings at it. Ivan immediately get jealous and jumps off the raft. Leaving Celina and Levuka stranded on the raft with no means of moving it. A huge wave comes crashing down and knocks Celina off into the water. Celina get furious and starts shouting and blaming Ivan for leaving the raft. Celina swims to the edge of the patch of land and drags herself up out of the water completely soaked. She looks around at something to attack and is about to throw something small at Ivan (like an apple) but she quickly calms down. She remembers he's a friend and relaxes. She sees Toothy and Ivan completely swinging at this shark with all their rage. She also notices a dolphin and realises that must be Levuka. She quickly looks around and spots her on the raft staying perfectly afloat. She finally spots Kelne using some of her spells. Celina turns her attention to the shark, immediately reaches for her apple and throws it as hard as she can towards the shark with her ‘Catapult’ spell. This succeeds and whacks the shark right in the head. Leaving just enough for Ivan and Toothy to finish it right off. There is lot of blood in the water and Ivan moves the shark corpse onto land, so they can pick it up later on their return back.
The furious waves in the water seem to calm down and the group mange to get across to a different island where there are so many flowers lying around. There are marigolds, Chrysanthemums, Daffodils and many more exotic and beautiful flowers on this island. Levuka decides to do a spell to locate the snowdrops, however she comes up empty. She mentions they don’t exist on this island. The group start looking around anyway for anyone to talk to as a last point of desperation. Ivan stumbles across some interesting figures and we all look and notice it’s a group of elementals, Water, Fire, Air and Earth. They’re massive. Ivan begins talking to these elements. Toothy mentions we’re looking for snowdrops and the elementals immediately look concerned and ask why we want them. Celina uses detect thoughts and listens in to what they’re thinking about. She learns that there was one of the elementals that actually knows the same girl who had ask them to come get the snowdrops. They were quite fond of her.
Celina first decides to convince the elementals to give some snowdrops to our group for a young dying girl. That it’s her only wish. However the elementals don’t buy it and just as they are about leave, Celina shouts out that they need the flowers for the girl they like. That it’s a task from her lady and she’s scared she won’t be able to complete the task without them. The elementals all look to each other and believe Celina. They then mention that they will help, since the girl is a good friend of there’s even though she doesn’t know it. They say they’ll do it if our group dances with them as it’s been awhile since they’ve had visitors and they miss dancing. Everyone agrees and attempts to do some sort of dance. Some people are clearly better dancers than others. Everyone gets into the spirt of it and eventually the elementals break away from the group and start casting a spell in a ritual to make it so snowdrops can grow.
It becomes fascinating to watch and everyone is fixed on them. Water and Air start dancing and create a blizzard on the island. Fire joins by creating a miniature sun in their hands and Earth puts their hands on the ground. Next thing the whole area is covered in snowdrops. They mention to our group that they can take the snowdrops now. However that they are only to take as much as what they need and no more. Everyone starts grabbing some snowdrops to fill up the basket. Celina contemplates for a long time about taking extra in her pocket to make some more gold on the side. Eventually she gives pup on the idea and focuses on her plans to get the lady to pay her a good figure for her contribution instead. As the group are preparing to leave, Toothy mentions to the elements that he can help out around the island and clean it up for them. They seem delighted with this idea. They also ask our group if they could give a gift to the girl who needed the flowers. They hand over a crystal ring and mention it’s how they can communicate and how the girl can safely get onto their island in future. The group hop onto the raft with their basket of snowdrops and make their way back to the main land. As the group look back to the island with the elementals, they all vanished into fin air. Along the way back, Ivan and Levuka make sure to pick up the shark corpse.
Once the group arrive back, they head straight towards the tavern to find the girl and her lady. The group walk in completely stinking of rotten fish and are still covered in patches of blood from the fight. They immediately spot the lady who completely acts like a snobby brat and the shy quiet girl who asked for their help. Everyone can tell immediately that this lady is obnoxious and rude to just about everyone. She is clearly used to getting her way. She is condescending but she sees the basket of snowdrops and agrees to pay the group a massive price as promised. The figure was more than Celina had expected so she happily takes the money. Toothy hands the girl the ring privately, away from the lady and explains about it. The girl takes the ring pleased and then quickly leaves the bar with her lady.
Celina pleased with her days work, heads to the bar and asks for a drink. She looks around the room to her fellow adventures and sees if anyone wants to join her in a celebratory drink.
