Strength.
Strength comes first.
The Goliath, Kavel 'Smashy Hands' Castiron, was born a mountain child, and strength comes to those adapted to mountain life.
As a young man, Kavel joined the Iron Strong Company (ISC). Practioners of the group's methods value strength as foremost importance. The ISC's methods are simple yet sinister. If you practice them well, you will be an Iron Strong Warrior.
Kavel sought to share the ISC's ways with everyone. Kavel thought, "everyone deserves to be strong". But Kavel noticed that outside his ISC cohort; strength did not come first.
Passing by a village one day, Kavel remarked the usual:
"Everyone here appears to be weak", but in addition, "this includes the gang threatening the villagers."
This village was in desperate need of an ISC comrade!
Kavel spoke to the gang and told them: "hostilites towards these villagers is not fair. Will you leave?" The gang did not.
Kavel smashed the gang leader in the head with his maul.
The rest of the gang ran away.
Kavel's actions made him something of a folk hero in the region.
Kavel was pleased with his regional status, but not being around fellow strength enthusiasts made him unhappy.
Learning of the Mysterious Mountain in Kantas, Kavel became excited by the prospect of meeting inhabitants of the mountain, afterall, whoever lived on a mountain would have to be a strong, and Kavel could not wait to meet them!
